Legendary War Dogs
How about a Legendary War Dog popping up now and then like a Mastiff?

How useful are the war dogs currently in the game?

I use them for a couple of situations...when you are doing a per head kill mission and the final few enemies are attempting to run away, it is good to send the dogs after them to engage while your mercs catch up. Also there are times if you have the dogs at the end of the line, you might be able to release them to harass the archers...I always have three dogs on my missions and many times will not use them but they do come in handy at times....

I like the idea, because dogs have genes, just as much as some brothers, who are more talented at fighting. Large wolfhounds and mastiffs should come as unique breeds either rarely sold by dog breeders or found ar rare loot?

Overall war hounds are there to harass weak and routing enemies for extra loot. However, if you use them carelessly, they might end up costing you more than you earn from potential extra loot. They dont eat any food, or use medical supplies as far as old Hoovy knows, so I used to buy one or two whenever I got the chance.
They can also be used as distractions with heavy enemies like orcs, but they might increase the enemies' morale when they drop dead, so Im not sure about expendable wardogs. Someone, once again, can add to the answer :)

Wardogs are rarely worth the likely trade off (dog dies = lost investment)), and the few times they will aren't worth packing a permanent fatigue penalty just to chase down a bandit marksman in rags every 15 mission or so.

I would also like more expensive wardogs that or the ability for wardogs to do some minor leveling of their own. Maybe tje ability to choose between upgrading to fast chasing dogs or heavier "pull a man from his horse" dogs.

Wardogs mit Level wären gut. So würden die einem auch ans Herz wachsen. Dazu noch ne Trillerpfeife, um die zurückzurufen. :-)
