Game crashes when I start a New Campaign?

I just bought this and ran a few of the scenarios to get a feel for it and it worked fine. I tried, twice now, to start a New Campaign, all with the default options, and the game hangs on the Loading screen and then just crashes.

Any idea why this would be happening? I have a high end PC that I built last month, so it's not performance related.

I'll save you some effort. If you're clicking on that loading screen, Don't. If it finally loads then you still may crash upon the first fight scene. That's been happening to me Day 1 DLC launch. Still no Fix.

Thanks, I actually just opted for a Refund yesterday. There's no excuse for the game to simply crash when I try and play it, so I wasn't about to follow a guide to submit feedback for a problem that might never get fixed.

Too bad too, the game looks good.

I also refunded because of this. Bought on GOG.com to see if the DRM-Free, non-Steam version was any better; the error was identical. Devs, please fix

In case anyone is encountering similar problems, here are two things that helped in other cases:

Changing settings via the Nvidia control panel (if you are a Nvidia user):

I have come back to this game today after quite a while to discover that now I am expierencing the above mentioned crash None of the described fixes work for me so far. Other things I have tried:
- Deleting all files and reinstalling
- Deleting the config file
