Can't launch game (Solved)
When trying to start the game through the steam client. It starts normal, I can choose between play and reset config. It showes running and then back to as it was never started. I tried to:
1. Uninstall the game, delete the folder in "My documents", restart the computer. Reinstall the game, delete save files. Same♥♥♥♥♥♥
2. Uninstall steam (all my games :'( ), restart computer, reinstall steam, reinstall game, delete save files. Same♥♥♥♥♥♥
3. Starting the game as admin. No change.

I can't find a log.html file anywhere, in the My Documents\Battle Brothers, there is only the folder savegames, which is empty. The game ran fine last night.

It could be that I have AVAST installed, but I followed the steps for that too it is newly updated and the exceptions are added (with restarts).

I am sending a mail with the dx file.

Update: I updated the graphics driver, restarted the computer and the game still won't launch.

Update 2: Tried deleting the folders in Ludeon Studios folder. Restarted the computer, no change for Battle Brothers.

Update 3: Tried disabling my second screen and disconecting my headset. It did not work.

Update 4: Tried running an older version of the game. Still the same problem.

Ok, so I solved it. Problem was not with the game, it was with Steam. Apparently the steamwebhelper.exe was silently crashing in the background due to SDL2.dll missing(?). When copy/pasting it to the Steam/bin/cef/Your-OS/ . The steamwebhelper started running again and the game launched.

I experienced what I think to be the same bug recently:
Originally posted by Love Gun:
Suddenly game does not launch anymore
When I launch Battle Brothers the process is started (as one can observe in the task manager) and closes automatically after some seconds without launching the game or any screen changing or showing up.
This is what I did and after that it worked again:
Rimworld was updated to A17 that day. When I launched it after the update, it only showed me a pink screen.
So I basically followed this advise
https://ludeon.com/forums/index.php?PHPSESSID=dd0f69cb2c956df0a04d9b156b467487&topic=28712.msg290843#msg290843
and deleted both folders in the Ludeon Studios folder.
Now Rimworld worked again.
After starting my PC the following day, Battle Brothers launched again like it used to.

Now, chances are high that there is no connection, but it may be worth a try nonetheless.

... thinking about it, you may have more in common with Red_Iron,

who also reported that no log file was created, since it was still created normally for me.

I don't know if that is true, but could it be possible that the game does not properly launch, because it is not able to create the log file?
Starting the game with Admin rights could be worth a try.

I deleted the folders from Ludeon Studios folder. Restarted the computer and ran the game, still the same issue. I have been running as admin the whole time. I forgott to add that to the previous post. Tried verifying the game files, no problem there.

It does sound more like the issue Red_Iron had, altough I did try and reinstall steam, as he did.

Here, http://steamcommunity.com/app/365360/discussions/1/135511757698753531/ , in this thread, there is a user with apparently the same issue, where verifying the game files resulted in nothing the first time, but fixed his problem later on.
Have a look at that thread, maybe it will point you to a solution.

Furthermore, you can check this thread,

I tried disabling my second screen and disconecting my headset. The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 has its driver updated and is set for the game. It did not work. Also tried adding the launcher option '-gl30' to no change.

irrKlang.dll and steam_api.dll are both in the win32 folder for the game. msvcp100.dll (mscvp140.dll in my case) is there. msvcr100.dll is not, although the game is verified successfully.

The weird thing is that when I bought the game, it worked fine that one night. The next day it would not launch. I did not change anything between these two days.
