Why No Workshop?
I know this game has Mods I use some, But why no workshop? Seems it would cut out the middle man.

I agree, the game has been out for a long time, a lot of quality mods are available, but are a pain to install.

This was the very small dev teams first game and they just did not have the capacity to add Workshop integration.

Also, many developers prefer not to use the workshop because it adds a lot of extra work to support buyers of the game who buy on a platform other than Steam since Workshop is just for Steam. Imagine being a dedicated mod creator who does this for no money and needing to do duplicate work from design through Q&A to support Workshop and non-Workshop mod versions.

Edit: The way mods work for this game is a great example of maybe even better than Workshop. I have the game on Steam and GOG (stupid 32-bit executable!) and the method & files are exactly the same for modding either version. Add to /data to add mod, remove from that folder to remove mod. Really a much cleaner method since Workshop can leave cruft behind that can cause bugs.

Also, I have read posts written by major overhaul mod developers that there are limitations to what you can do through Workshop.

1) download zip file
2) add zip file (do not uncompress!) to /data folder
3) play game

Um, basic computer file management. Yes, some games non-Workshop modding is a total pain, but not this game.

Actually for many mods onyl reliable source is Discord of their developers, they just dont update it anywhere els (eg. everything around Legends - even Nexus is quite obsolote already, not even starting about sub-mods)

So the Workshop would not solve anything.
In my experience, the modders for this game have done a great job, of making it easy to install and use their mods. Their very responsive to errors that my come up.

It can help to remember that there was no intentions of having mods for battle brothers when it first came out. To the point of not having easily modified files.

The mods we do have is because fans said "lmao, lol rofl even" to that and made some mods anyway.
