Can I find the "Abandoned Village" from the new patch in an old Map Seed

Greetings fellow mercenaries. I am playing the game again for the new contents with Map "PEELNOWGVG" I found somewhere a few years ago. So far I had no luck finding the new locations and I hope I didn't make the wrong decision by playing this seed.

Have anyone attempt playing for the new content with old map seed before?

Not sure how playing an old seed works, all I'm informed about is if you created the campaign after the patch. Tho I know what ya mean, took me so duper long to find it first time.

Tho now.. both times it's been like super close to roads/settlements when I've found it so haven't gone far

'A new campaign is required for the new content to be accessible. All other changes and fixes mentioned below will apply to existing campaigns as well, though.'

This is what the patch notes say. I suppose they don't specify 'new seed', just 'new campaign', but perhaps the devs didn't account for somone digging up an old seed.

Thank you all. I'll look harder than. My group is about lv 5 to lv 6 so I guess I am still too early to encounter that.

It's like Piggy said, it usually spawns closer to settlements/roads. If you're really desperate you could install a mod which reveals legendary locations but I'm not sure if it's been updated for the new content. If you're not playing Ironman and you don't mind save scumming then I'd suggest saving the game, exploring part of the map, loading, exploring another part, rinse and repeat untill you find it. Or just continue playing the game normally, if the location is there, you are bound to find it sooner or later.

The seed shouldn't make a difference, because you are able to manually input any seed key of up to 10 characters, and so could have entered the seed you specified either before or after any update. Seed keys are not specific to any release version.

It has to be a new game, but the seed itself can be whatever.
