Crafting recipes
Do they exist in game or do I have to look up the wiki each time?

Direwolf pelts (underrated nimble attachment), hyena pelts (for anyone using initiative builds), unhold/lindwurm bones (absorbs 1 hit at the start of every fight), unhold white fur (the anti armor ignore attachment)
If you're not using lots of dogs, you can craft the + resolve bits from nach horns and teeth as well as from alp drops. The hexen version is the best one of those 3, but is way more of a pain to make than those other 2 who you'll often be able to make at least 1 or 2 of after a fight with a group of either monster

Once you have the right ingredients the Taxidermist "teaches" you the recipe and from that point on you will see all your known recipes & their requirements when revisiting any taxidermist.

Or meta the transaction and look up the recipes on the wiki

It makes sense in game that you take items you have found from killing beasts to the Taxidermist and they discover how to craft something usable from it. Now you have a list of recipes in-game that you discovered.

Not sure how that sucks and you just keep at least 2 of each (I keep 4 of hides and unhold bones) except the ones that specifically say just for they are for selling.
I'm pretty sure there's a mod that displays everything off the bat

Maybe they are just lazy and cannot be bothered to research and write things down for themselves.
