While a little bit extra health can't hurt, melee defense is far superior to HP at the moment.
I guess you could level up both at the cost of fatique or attack, but I doubt it'd work out.
Once we get more ranged enemies HP may be a valid alternative but for now I wouldn't bother.
I see; frankly I think the bonus from Colossus and/or bonus HPs from level ups should be higher.
Yeah, either that or armor needs to modify hits in some way instead of just being an additional health bar.
but if you get it at like level 4-5 and you already have alot of health it is sooo OP
i had people with far far over 100hp only an orc can 1 hit kill them...but thats an other discussion <.<
after that you can focus on stamina :D i make all my melee the same build.
3 in attack: armour danage thingy, fast adaptation, and another..
3 in defence: colossus less armour damage and extra shield defence bonus,
4 in utillity: free swap weapons, extra xp, pathfinder and brawny for more stamina!
perfect build for me, plus! i can give all my units javelins and do alot of damage before the enemy even reaches me! thanks to the free swap!!!
Roman style all the way!
with that build and getting it late collosus is the best perk ever
PS. dont get just anyone to join you.... i just do simple quests until i find the right person to join, wildmen, lumberjacks and if i have the money the elites.
I think we have very different definitions of OP... and very different playstyles as well.
Your melee build seems a bit odd tbh.
Student (extra xp) is a waste of a perk currently, since your guys max out at level 11 already and you only get 10 perks to pick. You reach that cap fast enough so you should probably get another perk that actually does something instead.
Also, same build for all melee? Even swordmasters?
You get Quick Hands (weapon swap) but no Bags And Belts?
And Brawny (which is excellent) is your only non-tier 1 pick in all melee builds?
i do not need extra space for weapons only need sword shield and javelins
and yes same build for all melee good defence good attack and good stamina
its all about keeping my team alive all of them!!!!
so why would i not give them all shields?
when level 11 they can survive almost everything, they can kill almost everything and they can last as long as i need in a battle.
tell me where my build flawed, beside the xp what i can switch for the extra space thingy
what i actually will do from now on, its actually just a filler so i can get brawny :s
I discovered that Colossus doesn't seem to give HPs prospectively, so you seem to be right. I now take it at level 9.
Still, it's hardly "OP."
Agreed with all your comments; his build seems odd to even my untrained eyes. In particular, any XP bonus in these type of games is a newb trap, and I never take them.
Hmmm, I missed this at first read. How should Swordmasters be built different from other melees? I have them and Hedge Knights built the same way,
Swordmasters need Nimble. Always. Preferably early.
That perk by itself makes all the difference and can decide whole battles (against melee enemies), so they should be geared towards a high defense one-handed sword build.
If you force them into a generic melee build and equip em with shields you might as well not hire them at all.
The only drawback is that enemies tend to try and go around your swordmasters because they have little chance of actually hitting them, but even that can be used for a tactical advantage.
Ah, shoot. I built 3 Swordmasters wrongly then...
One handed look so counterintuitive and awkward though.
What about offensive melee builds?
and once you have brawny and some good cash give the sword master the best of the best armour and helmet...they can just hit him as long as they want...he wont die
will you just send your dps guys away and let the tank soak up damage until they die?
wont the enemy attack the ones with lowest defence first?
they do in my game... so how do you tank?
Huh? You talking to me or DT?
