Oathtakers can come with some of the best non famed armor that's otherwise impossible to find. That's also what makes them so expensive.
Stat wise, they lean more into initiative and less into fatigue. With stars in fatigue they can be traditional heavy armor monsters like Hedge Knights, but naturally they lean into nimble or nimbleforged builds with dodge, overwhelm etc. At worst they'll be premium backliners.
They're a cool premium background. I like to hire them if they come with gear I can use.
The simplest way to put it is that Hedge Knights are the premier Forge bro and Oathtakers are the premier Nimble bro (not that you can't go either way with both).
If a Hedge Knight is a better Farmer than an Oathtaker is a better Thief.
