Is there a mod that will let me customize the appearance of my guys?

I want to be able to change my bros faces, hair, etc., to my liking. Is there a mod that will let me do that?

I am not sure if you need an expansion or not, but some towns have "Barber Shops" and you can change all that there for free.

Remember to click "Accept" after each bro's change. If you try to change all your bros, then click accept, it'll only save the last bro you changed.

Ah, Ok. Most bros look fine...I hate some of the hairdos, though. :D

I suppose the Legends mod will add female faces to the barber shops?

Legends I believe just adds Female mercs outright, I don't know if you can take a Male Brother and swap them to a female head.

That said when it comes to hair..... well mid to late game you're not gonna have a hat off most the time anyway.

Oh I don't know... when my bros relax and recover from injuries out of the fighting line they usually take their helms off for extra comfort. The Wildmen also remove their armour and run around naked as is their wont...

Legend mod has a barber in the company camp that comes with the mod. So you can change the look of your mercenaries any time you like. Unfortunately the gender can't be changed, but you can set how frequent female mercs show up in the world.

I want to install the legends mod as soon as I get the game/DLCs; I'm happy to hear that you can increase the frequency of female bros to recruit!

Actually I would suggest to start with the game by playing the vanilla (+DLC) version. There is more than enough to learn and understand to keep you occupied for hundreds of hours.

I play with legend mod since I bought the game. i didn't play a single minute vanilla and I haven't regret it. I surely would miss the things, that legend adds to the game.

Legend mod is excellent, has a lot going for it and represents some great love and work. But it can completely change the game if not used judiciously, making it far too easy. I tried it once and realised I wasn't playing BB anymore. The basic game plus DLC is by far the best for me, but each to their own...

Maybe it's a mistake not to play Vanilla first. I don't know. I've often heard that you should play without mods first, but I for one like the game easier. I don't have a high frustration tolerance and this game can be extremely frustrating. Especially because it offers nothing to the player if they lose a game. Unlike other games where you get a bonus the next time you play through. Here, I just start over and if I'm unlucky, I have undead and necromancers in the second mission instead of the bandits from the description. Losing is fun, as the game itself says. Fun...maybe for some, but not rewarding.
