Day 1, Hoggart Start
Basic Hoggart start, hire three guys in the starting location and picked up a few weapons and armor to repair while traveling to the larger town. Upon arrival we found the town under the boot of local bandits so prices were terrible. Not only were the prices terrible but the guys for hire were pathetic, so the Company headed back to the starting town to regroup.

I figured we probably needed to go to a different city before taking on Hoggart, so we departed, and to my horror 7 Cultists came charging in from the outskirts of town. Fortunately the city Militia sallied forth to aid us with 7 guys so it was 13 v 7. We had the high ground and took out the Cultists with just 2 Militia lost, not a bad start.

One of the Companions leveled so I figured we could repair on the way to Hoggarts Lair, "let's take Hoggart out!" Still day 1, but the night gave the Company the advantage with the Fangshire Helm, and it was 6 v 6. Hoggart lost 2 men to the Xbow before they could engage, at that point we had them. Everyone leveled up, so now I had 6 level 2 brothers.

As dawn broke on day 2 we overtook a caravan on our journey to turn in the Hoggart Contract only to be ambushed by Dire Wolves. The wolves and caravan guards were deeply engaged by the time my small band arrived and we were able to turn the tide with timely Xbow, pitchfork, javelin, and warfork blows.

So, as it stands it is barely morning of day 2 and the Company has accomplished the following; the initial tutorial fight, a 3 way fight vs Cultists with Militia assistance, took out Hoggart, and a second 3 way fight vs Dire Wolves in the rescue of a caravan - with a nice reward to boot.

This is shaping up to be a heck of a start.

I'm confused by you being attacked by roaming Cultists? Is this some kind of mod?

Cultists can only be encountered in two specific events, they aren't a roaming mob. Cultists are also no joke and would kick your butt on day 1 with all the perks they have.

Sounds like fun. Looking forward to it.

I've always felt like Cultists and Bounty Hunters were underutilized enemies. Cultists are bit harder to work in, but I see no reason why Bounty Hunters can't make a rare appearance in Brigand mobs beyond the early game.

bounty hunters appearing with brigands would be really weird because they tend to hunt them for bounties.
I think I would rather see a chance to get a bounty hunters hired to kill you every time you kill a champion or a leader, like their family or buddies would hire them.

That's true, maybe they could be added into Mercenary groups. That might make more sense.

Also feels like Bounty Hunters could be a background, but maybe that overlaps too much with Sellsword.
