No need to level up resolve?
Any decent brother will already have 40+ as base stat and if you add +10 from arena trait and +4~6 from necklace you automatically get 55+ resolve. A lot of the guides and tips recommend 45~55, so does that mean there's actually no need to invest attribute points into resolve?

Are you really going to spend 84 days religiously grinding the Arena and tethered to the Arena city to get your whole team the bonus? That's also assuming every Arena fight is winnable and you don't have to pass on certain days (ie Champion Swordmaster).

More than likely, you'll have 3 bros get the Arena bonus, maybe 6 if you put concerted effort into grinding it, but I already feel like it takes a lot of effort just to grind 3.

As for trophies, it is somewhat luck dependent. I have a day 120 something campaign right now and I have only one Hexe trinket and a handful of Nacho trinkets. Also, some bros will want to use the ambition trinkets or Dogs instead.

So yeah, there is a lot of free Resolve that's somewhat easily accessible, but not so much for the whole team in a reasonable time frame. Have to pick and choose who gets the goodies.

With the banner bro present, i see little use for it. I even faced the 4 witches encounter in this way and most of the time the mere presence of the banner was enough to block their charm.

Of course, there are cases where it would be needed. Your lone wolf bro certainly needs a lot of it. but i would rather have a solid formation than risking a super OP character into a sea of enemies just because YOLO.

I prefer 55-60 base. It's not just witches and ghosts you're worried about. Having someone break from hits or getting surrounded loses fights. The bonus/malus from morale is also important.

Had my 62 Resolve tank drop to fleeing from Orcs walking into him in a Sea of Tents recently. Only reason it didn't end terribly is because he couldn't actually flee because there was no room and I was able to Rally him next turn.

So yeah, having more than 50 Resolve can be good.

Tanks are a little bit of an exception to the case, since their life goal is to be surrounded by enemies. That said, yeah 50-55 after arena/necklace bonuses + the bonus from banner carrier (puts you at about 65), is plenty for melee frontline. Aside from the occasional max roll level up, leveling resolve is really only for units that are going fearsome, are tanks/banner carriers, or start with less than 40 resolve. Getting a mix of hexe, alp, and nach necklaces by day 100 isn’t that unreasonable if you are fighting every beast contract or fight you come accross, getting at least all nach necklaces is pretty much guaranteed. That said, you do have to make a conscience decision to visit the southern cities to farm arenas, but I would say that getting at least half your company arena bonuses isn’t too unreasonable either without hyperfocusing on arenas (not that it would be unwise to do so).

Of course, you are free to spend as many points on things as you like, as there is no one way to succeed at BB.

Resolve mean money! The difference high cost bro vs low cost bro is resolve! That reason I don’t hire many farmhand early! Except brawler if he has good initiative

For me, Resolve is another element of specialization for certain builds -- I don't bother leveling up Resolve on *everyone*, because usually the banner bonus is enough for normal fights...but I absolutely need a strong core group of 5-6 people with high RES for the really tough ones.
