Making Camp
Greetings all,
New player here, bought the game five days ago and have already been wiped out four times. :) Each time I get a bit farther and learn a little more about what not to do, but I figure reading the guides and the wiki and asking you all questions might help me along the way.

I have run my first four campaigns thinking time is money, so I almost never make camp. But I have also noticed my Brothers don't seem to have their full amount of fatigue going into a fight. Should I be making camp right before a fight if possible? Should I be making camp if I am in a settlement? I have not found anything in the wiki about this.

Cheers! :)

Making a camp does a couple things. It raises your repair speed for armor and weapons. I think it may increase your healing speed too but I am not sure. Camping during the switch from midday to afternoon does increase your odds of healing a temporary injury if you have the meds. Camping also reduces your live view on the world map.

Yes, you can make camp in a settlement, and it operates just the same as if you camped in the wild. You may also benefit from local militias etc coming to your aid if you're attacked whilst camping in a settlement, but don't bet your shirt on that happening all that often, if at all. You can also pick up settlement events doing this.

I tend to camp after a heavy engagement to help boost health and gear before making the perilous journey back to the quest giver etc. It's also advisable to never enter into combat with less than full health or damaged gear although you will learn to gauge when it's safe to do so as you gain experience.

Just keep an eye on the food stocks too - when running low it may often be best to chance a run through the wilderness at low health etc than to camp.

That's correct. Time is even more important than money, time is levels and good equipment.

You should only camp if you want to switch between day and night before fight.

There is no such mechanic in BB.

Equipment reduces maximum fatigue to simulate their "weight", and in turn also reduces initiative. You'll practically never start with full amount, and how much penalty a bro can take is a thing to consider when building them.

Wearing armour and weapons deducts a certain value (see item description) from your total fatigue. But the fatigue bar is always full when starting a fight.

common injuries reduce fatigue too, if your brothers are injured you can likely push through a bit on fatigue minus but some injuries are worse and require healing at a temple.

This clears things up. Thank you all for the info! :)

As a fellow new player who just passed 120 days on the Tutorial campaign and am finally understanding the basic mechanics of the game, I wish you well on your own journey.

Personally, I never camp unless it's night by the time I arrive at a city and want to fast forward to dawn, when the market opens, or if I just need to hurry along repairs on the more profitable loot that I intend to sell. But often, the long travel times between cities takes care of that.
