The brother who is the sacrifice dies, every Cultist gets a Good mood.png good mood, every non-Cultist will get a Bad mood.png bad mood (They lose 4 mood levels), then there is a 50% chance for each Cultist to gain the tier 1 candle perk or get their candle perk's tier increased by 1 if they already had one, there are 5 tiers to climb

The 2 brothers will be chosen from your 4 brothers with the least Experience
This event can sacrifice both Cultist and non-Cultist brothers
Brothers that are Bad mood.png angry will leave your company
Try to visit the tavern and drink enough until they are back to Mood 02.png disgruntled so they don't leave
Craft Happy Powder to increase mood in an emergency
If you keep your brothers at Good mood.png euphoric mood or Mood 06.png eager mood they will not drop down to Bad mood.png angry mood from the sacrifice
You can't have more than 1 Prophet of Davkul.png Prophet of Davkul at the same time
You can use the 21 days of cooldown after the sacrifice to safely explore far away from taverns
It has to be night-time
Campaign is 151 days or older
Have a roster of at least 12 brothers
Have at least 1 free inventory slot
Have 6 or more Cultists
2 level 11 or higher Cultist among them (One of them will be the sacrifice. The one with the highest level will not be chosen for this)

No, I don't use mods. But I haven't played in a while, so something could have changed.
I only play Lone Wolf.
I'd imagine about 2000 hours is before the origin system was implemented. In fact, probably 1500 hours during beta and during the immediate aftermath of release. I didn't play all that much after the DLCs started rolling.
