Controller/Touch Support?
Now you have managed to port this amazing game to the Switch, will you be adding in controller or touch support to the game so that we might play via GeForce Now or Steam Link?

THIS
I was searching if this game has controller support since i only recently started playing and all i could find is an old response from a dev-
"No, this game wouldn't play well with a controller."
I don't see why it can't now that its on switch. Unless they ported a game to a console that "wouldn't play well" since you only use controller with that console.
Hope it's at least actually considered now not just an ignored option.

The silence on this is incredibly disappointing from a developer who is usually so active.

Hey Kaje, the Switch port is not directly developed by Overhype but by a third-party (Ukiyo). I can't speak for the devs, but I don't think controller support would be a priority at this point.

Is it not being considered in the slightest? I think the important point Kaje brought up is that it's certainly possible to do.
The only info on why controller support wasn't developed that i have seen is what I've posted already "wouldn't play well" yet exists on a console that uses a gamepad style control scheme(regardless of who actually developed it, it still exists). Did the switch version gut a bunch of features or soemthing to in order to make a gamepad work?

^ This.

I cannot talk for the devs, I do not know if they are considering it or not. I'm just saying that I *think* that at this point is not exactly a pressing issue.

Probably a financial thing if I had to guess.

The switch port probably wasn't cheap but it opens a whole new market.

Controller support for PC on the other hand might require quite some effort too to properly implement without any significant revenue in return.

Just a guess.

If they ever opt in to geforce now, you can still play using touch controls by configuring the touch screen gamepad to work like a mouse via the Steam controller setup. It actually works pretty well due to the flexibility of the steam controller setup, you can also set hot keys. I play a lot of PC games on my Android Phone via geforce now using the touch screen game pad even though the game doesn't have controller support. Works best for turn based or pausable games. Obviously, controller support would be best. Having said this, step 1 is opting into Geforce now. I no longer have a PC and will buy the most recent expansion immediately if they ever do opt in

I never knew you could do that - any recommendations of games which work well in that way? I've often scrolled through my library on GeForce Now to be put off by most needing a mouse.

Yeah, the way to use it is to first launch a game via the geforce now android app, then once you're in the game, press the steam overlay button (sometimes this button is finicky and i need to press it multiple times for it to work). This will then bring you to some steam options, where there is an option that says something like "steam input per game settings" and you need to set it to "Forced On." This allows you to use a controller even for games that don't have controller support. Then you need to mess around with the controller templates or create your own. Using the touch screen gamepad, I created my own template which uses the left stick as the mouse, the A, and B buttons as the left and right mouse butons. The right stick as WASD, and then then I customize this template for the specific game so I can have the other gamepad buttons serve as a hotkey. You can do this both with a physical gamepad or the virtual onscreen touch gamepad. The first time you do this, you'll probably want to spend some time getting comfortable with the customization settings to be able to control the speed of the mouse cursor, sensitivity, etc. Some games I've played the virtual gamepad as a mouse/keyboard is Thea 2: The Shattering, Northgard, Heroes of Might and Magic 5, Age of Wonders 3, Crusader Kings 3, and Kings Bounty. It wouldn't work too well for an action game (I tried it with Path of Exile but was too difficult for me). Battle Brothers would be great for this, we just need to get them to opt into GeForce NOW.

That's bloody brilliant - thanks mate, I'm going to have a go with it tonight!

I would like a touchscreen interface to play on a surface pro. PLaying this game whilst travelling would be awesome.

I agree - this is the most addictive game I own (besides Football Manager...) and I'd love to play it on the go with mods. I own the Switch version, which is great, but I do miss a mod or two.

Why don't you guys just plug in a small mouse in your mobile device to play it? I am doing this with my phone quite often and it works well.

It's less convenient, I prefer to hold my pad and tap.
