Do all Towns/Cities/Villages have roads?

Im wondering if they are any settlements in the fog, since it seems i already see half the map and there are no roads leading into the fog. Does that mean there are no settlements to be found there?

Apparently there is according to a dev comment. I also saw a caraven head into the fog zone in my game. So I assumed there was.

There are settlements in the FOW, sometimes the road itself is hidden.
The tiles were there should be no settlements are:
water/swamp/high snow/mountains. The rest of the map can/might be populated. Hope it helps.

Don't hesitate to screenshot your world map so we can have a look (zoom out to the most, get a screenshot F12 from every map corner).

I remember that in Goblin Patch some settelement could be cut off and dont have road connection.
In current patch I see some settelments on island with no roads and I think I see one that was cut off on mainland.

Also want to note that currently there is 3 factions any with 4 settlements plus 5 independent(one is big city) but they all usually connected until on island. Only Faction settlements give you vision on game start.
Didnt explore deep into FOG so I am not sure if there are any independent locations.

Well I assumed the road I saw going into FOW in my current game was linked to a settlement. Nope. I goes around a long path for trading caravans since there is no land link closer. Appears to be a barren wasteland. Will explore further.

I would like to add to the above that a city/village can be hidden in the midst of a swamp or surrounded by mountains. I had some cases like this in my games.

It does...if you look at the map it leads from the settlements in the south all the way around to the northwest. Its the only land link to move caravans there thus they use the road. I saw a number of caravans on my exploration of this road and ran into all sorts of enemy along the way. It actually was a profitable trip.
The point was...there was no FOW linked settlements in that area as the screenshot displays. At any rate ive gotten pretty bored with the rote contracts and smash mouth as it stands. So my next efforts are going to be to reveal the entire map since I have the money and a crew to do it now.
Should be interesting.... to see if there is really more out there.
