Is being "Tiny" so bad?
No, not that one: Being an Asian, I know that kind of "tiny" is bad for sure.

In all seriousness, you get -15 percent damage, but you get a rather "sizable" +5 Melee AND Ranged Defense. I think the trade-off is worth it, no? In particular, if you have a specialized team where mostly "damage" characters do damage, then the slight loss of damage on a non-damage character is meaningless.

What do you guys think?

Tiny is one of my favorite traits. Basically for the exact reasons you state. Now, if I could roll a Tiny + Brute that would be awesome.

While the damage loss is bad early on, a tiny shield defender with a lot of fatigue + a special shield is VERY good later in the game.

The only thing about Tiny that annoys me is that it apparently affects crossbows, which it really shouldn't.
Other than that it's probably great for a dedicated tank.

I have a tiny fletcher with the dex trait as well. I used him as a x bowman.

I used to crave Brute characters, but with the current stat system, any kind of Skill/Defense malus will be huge to overcome - unless, of course, you get it on a Swordmaster.

Had a tiny surefooted thief once, with 11 base melee defense (before traits came into play). With traits he had more starting melee defense than my Swordmaster.

It's still a negative.
Thing is, there's no good "class" that needs both melee defense and range defense.

* A front liner with a shield doesn't need ranged defense bonus (shield) and will likely prefer doing more damage.

* A back liner with a halbred/bow doesn't need melee defense, and would always prefer to do more damage

* A 2-handed weapon close range character is currently the crappiest crap you can do in the game (it'll die almost instantly without INSANE defensive skills, while being nearly unable to attack because his attacks cost 6AP, and doing ultimately less damage than a small weapon guy who can attack twice and divide attack/offensive skills between enemies or move farther and attack)

Well its a matter of bieng invested in the characters isnt it? I dont fire them becuase of whatever traits they have. If they die I have to replace them. Ironically some of my most gimped Brothers are the ones that for whatever reason survived so far.

Yeah, it's just the eccentricity of it I like. I also like brute killers on the run. Actually I just like killers on the run period, though their special event is really, really... well... illogical.
