He's got 300 hp and 500/500 armor, so yeah, he can take some hits.

Or just use Fearsome and he'll be fleeing long before he's dead.

yea that makes sense thanks

Hammers/Polehammers are your best bet to take out his armor to actually kill him. Alternatively you can just keep disarming him with whips while you kill off the rest of the orcs to the point he pisses himself and tries to run away.

You really need huge (armor) damage in Orc camps. One reason why 2h / duelist frontliners are so popular late game.

That or you manage to route them all.

Smashing him in the face with a 2h mace is effective too - Good armor damage + daze debuff

As turtle225 says, the easiest way to deal with orc warlords is to not engage with them on their own terms (exchanging blows) but rather attack their weakest point: their low Resolve. A net and Puncture attacks (particularly with Fearsome) wreaks havoc on warlords, but often just killing everyone around him is enough to make them flee.

Jesus. Haven't seen one yet but I'm fine with that.

Orc young have 65 resolve, warriors 75, and berserkers and warlords 90. Not exactly low. However, their morale does readily drop (from being hit or from seeing others die or flee) if you hit the youngs/berserkers a lot with 2H swords/axes/cleavers and the warriors/warlords with 2H maces/hammers. Your own characters would break even more readily if they got hit as much with the same attacks, and it's not uncommon to see super-high-resolve enemies like unholds, lindwurms and chosen break under such circumstances.

Fair enough, I haven't checked the numbers, just drew from my experience of fighting them -- it's always easier for me to rout them than to strip them of armor, then kill them :P

thanks guys <3

Because they are tanky they tend to rout before they die. Routing gives mass morale check to allies, similar to when someone dies, so in practice we tend to see orcs running away in large number with relatively light casualties compared to other factions.

Net him, disarm him, overwhelm him with a dagger master, or buy time with spearwall. Those are your control options. While you're controlling him, have a beefy two-hander with a hammer or axe hit him repeatedly over the head. Warlords will often do their scream instead of attacking if his army is wavering, so they aren't as scary as they look. Better to disarm him to be safe, though :)

Have a banner nearby to rally, if necessary.
