Where de ya bastards get coats of plates?!
I've fought only 2 hedge knights and I've killed them through destroying their armour. But I only get bloody helmets! I can't even find any coat of plates in the armoursmiths?!

Please, tell me where I canfind them!

Do you have a "castle" type settlement with blast furnace around it? If so, do contracts for it.

If not... welp, re-roll the map, I guess. I have yet to see blast furnace producing plate in a village (not sure about town, never seen that combo).

Also, always lug scramsax around just for those random encounter goodies :)

Also, beware the riddle of the guardian...

Though some did prevail (adult language ahead): http://media.oglaf.com/comic/ravine.jpg

I'd link the actual oglaf page the image is from, but last time I posted that kind of a link (to something very SFW aside from language itself) bloody mods banned me for a month because the site has a big "NSFW adult content" warning pop up when you access it (and for a good reason).

Anyway. Oglaf is love. Oglaf is... my kind of jokes.

I've seen it for sale at the shops. As mentioned above, may need to have blast furnace and then do quests to increase reputation with that house.

Definately this, although I have only managed to find 1 hedge knight so far and he only had reinforced mail.

I have found 3 sets of coat of plates so far in large settlements with blast furnaces and I am at day 180 or so. Full helms seem to have about the same rarity as I also have 3 of them.

Think im 300 days in and its now retaviely common at locations that have the structures.

It's often on sale in armor-makers.

I didn't find it desirable though. At a certain point fatigue is more important than defense. Even when I give the -50% fatigue penalty from armor to all my guys and ALWAYS take points in endurance, I still find the coat of plates to be overly inhibiting.

Yep you really have to balance it all out.

my first map was lucky and had 2 castles with a blast furnace, so ive found coat of plates rather easily. I think the secret is to have blast furnaces. And if your fighting someone with armor you want, try not to destroy armor, and if you have military cleavers use decapitate to try and go for the head

Actually Iron Lungs outperforms Brawny by a mile.

ooh, I don't know about that. Brawny increases starting fatigue by a lot. And rally might make iron lungs unnessary a lot of times.

ha..one of my guys is club-footed, but he has iron lungs. Seems legit though really.

Iron lungs is awesome. But it's only thx to rng or lots of re-hiring that you can use it. In that sense "Brawny" and "Battle Flow" are much more reliable.
The thing is... you can always pick Brawny and Battle Flow for your Iron Lungs brother.

You can't get the perk without appropriate hire, though. And Iron Lungs does pop up frequently enough to build up a roster of brothers with it (not if you min-max for the end-game with all premium backgrounds, but I don't really think it's that necessary for frontline defensive/utility users, anyway).

Early on, if I see a brother with Determined AND Iron Lungs, I do a happy dance when nobody's watching. Never mind their stats (yeah, determined is another "lolwut hire nao!" trait for me early on when the boni are significant)

I'm with you on this. Like I said it's a godsend. But RNGesus does not always smile on us, mere mortals :)
