If not... welp, re-roll the map, I guess. I have yet to see blast furnace producing plate in a village (not sure about town, never seen that combo).
Also, always lug scramsax around just for those random encounter goodies :)
Though some did prevail (adult language ahead): http://media.oglaf.com/comic/ravine.jpg
I'd link the actual oglaf page the image is from, but last time I posted that kind of a link (to something very SFW aside from language itself) bloody mods banned me for a month because the site has a big "NSFW adult content" warning pop up when you access it (and for a good reason).
Anyway. Oglaf is love. Oglaf is... my kind of jokes.
Definately this, although I have only managed to find 1 hedge knight so far and he only had reinforced mail.
I have found 3 sets of coat of plates so far in large settlements with blast furnaces and I am at day 180 or so. Full helms seem to have about the same rarity as I also have 3 of them.
I didn't find it desirable though. At a certain point fatigue is more important than defense. Even when I give the -50% fatigue penalty from armor to all my guys and ALWAYS take points in endurance, I still find the coat of plates to be overly inhibiting.
ooh, I don't know about that. Brawny increases starting fatigue by a lot. And rally might make iron lungs unnessary a lot of times.
ha..one of my guys is club-footed, but he has iron lungs. Seems legit though really.
You can't get the perk without appropriate hire, though. And Iron Lungs does pop up frequently enough to build up a roster of brothers with it (not if you min-max for the end-game with all premium backgrounds, but I don't really think it's that necessary for frontline defensive/utility users, anyway).
Early on, if I see a brother with Determined AND Iron Lungs, I do a happy dance when nobody's watching. Never mind their stats (yeah, determined is another "lolwut hire nao!" trait for me early on when the boni are significant)
