Worst/Least used weapon?
Unfortunately the recent perk update has sent flails back into obscurity for me.
I used to find them a great way to overcome a bandit shied wall or pummel a foolishly un-helmeted opponent.

Now however:
Having to spend a whole perk point just to get the "100% hit chance to head" is just not worth it in the long run.
Better to get Axe or Hammer mastery for the additional armour piercing and fatigue reduction.

They could fix this by reducing the AP cost for the primary flail ability in addition to the hit chance increase? That would help countered the low damage that flails normally do.

What's everyone elses least favourite/used weapon?

The Flai Mastery perk will add 100% hit chance to the Lash ability, not your basic flail ability, flails by default still do 100% damage to the head, but the mastery adds that effect to the Lash skill too.

Sorry. I should have expressed that better.

The "Flail" skill that all Flail-types have still has 100% chance to ignore the shield bonus but it does NOT have the 100% to hit the head.

The prime use for a flail is to pound skulls over and around shileds so your really only look to the "Lash" skill anyway.

So haviing to take an entire perk to make a single weapon type useable is pretty lame. Especially as there is no other variation beyond the current three types. No polearm type or two handed style flail to use.

I have seen for sale a two-handed unique flail. Unfortunately, I did not buy it (or have any money at the time), but now I'm constantly on the lookout for another one.

Unfortunately, flails are probably also my least-used weapon type, along with hammers. They just suck up so much fatigue so fast. I want to start using hammers a bit more as I transition into fighting more orcs, so that I can tear off their armor quickly, but I don't feel the same "incentive" to introduce flails.

Thought the Orc-flails are the only 2 handed flails...?

If I ever find that unicorn of a flail again, I will be sure to screen-shot it. :(

Spears. I never used them after the early/mid game stage, their stats are just not good enough.

I like flails. You don't need the perk to have 100% to hit the head with lash (it helps because you ignore the shield bonus but it's not mandatory), with good melee skills you can snipe anyone with bad helmets and loot a lot more armor from human enemies.

Orc Chains are the only two-handed flails in game, no Named Orc Chains either.
Landwalker04, what you saw was a one hander Named Flail, some of them have longer handle than the basic one.

I swear up and down that the description specifically labeled it as two-handed. But alas, I am victim to "pics or it didn't happen" and I have no pictures. At the time, I didn't even realize that two-handed flails weren't already a normal thing. =(

Oh well. Regardless of that, I still feel like flails don't offer me enough incentive to really use them much (especially because of being a fatigue sink).

I use flails a lot. Being able to zero in on peoples heads is actually pretty great, although the fatigue is indeed an issue.

I feel like I have to also throw clubs (and maces) into the mix; I just never seem to have any reason to use them over other options. Has anyone else gotten any mileage out of them? Are there any two-handed cudgel weapons?

High level mace guys are great when the enemy moves two two-handers next to your guys and you can't just kill them right out. Conking both on the head and stuinning them gives you time before they chop your dude's heads off.

Ah, that makes sense.

I'm mulling over my ultimate group composition trying to figure out the roles to be played. Right now I'm at:

1 Sergeant w/ Longaxe
2 Archer/Pike (or Jagged Pike) Hybrids
2 Archer/Longaxe Hybrids
2 Shieldbros

That leaves me with five slots to fill, and needing to figure out a weapon for the shieldbros. Given that the shieldbros' primary job would be to tie up the enemy and take a beating while the rest of the group does their thing, maces might not be a bad weapon option for them.

Get a super tank powerhouse and equip him with a greathammer!

I liked flails a lot better when the lash ability allowed you to hit two targets, though I think it was probably unrealistic--but if that's unrealistic, then so are all the other multi-target attacks IMO.

I'd just like flail to have an ordinary attack no different than the axe, sword, and mace and then have its shield ignoring attack be its second special attack at the cost of more fatigue. And keep its built in higher head-hit chance.

Hopefully I'm recalling everything correctly here. Correct me if I'm wrong.
