So where do I find them walking all around the town and cant find anything

Usually on contract start there is single wolf paw prints. They lead to pack.
But sadly they are hard to see on higher res.

just circle the town you will find them. I typically notice they are near forrests.

Check for their footprints. If its daylight, normally, the direwolves will come hunting for you lol

If you follow them over a mountain you might loose the tracks, sometimes it helps to circle back to the city

Its a new contract or old one? If its a hunting a terror than just do nothin and camp, Within 1 day dirwolves or raiders will come and attack you themselfs.

I also got the hunt a terror quest. When it said hunt I didn't think to camp. I wandered far away and never completed the quest.

The direwolves will usually go after you. If you think it's too tough, lead them down a road to fight them with a caravan group or, even better, lead them into a small encampment to create a threeway fight.

On contract start if i don't spot the tracks because for whatever reason they are hard to see, i pause the game and press tab multiple times to toggle tracks on and off. Makes them "blink" and the eye immediateely catches them.
