I've recently read stuff about Gustavus Adolphus, who was nicknamed the lion of the north.
Usually it's something inspired from a random banner.
I also had a long campaign with the Cheap ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ in the past.
Feral Sons - An excuse to use the Lindwurm, red and white /lucky charm, or celtic banners from time to time.
Valiant Vagrants - The weeping saint banner.
Corpse Brigade - Final Fantasy Tactics reference. Corpse being eaten by a snake banner.
Blue Stripes - Witcher reference. Banner should be obvious.
I've got nothing for that Crow banner, but it's my favorite by far.

You can even name your entire roster after the characters.
