That makes tryout a no brainer and as such is heavily OP imo compared to vanilla, but who cares? If you enjoy to have that particular advantage, use it. It's a singleplayer game.

I guess, I'm trying to say it will make the game easier, but it should present a challenge. Especially early on when brother quality is less influential.
I'd also add that taking out subpar brothers changes the game experience as well. You might find the game to be more boring when you don't need to build around a brother would is just "okay." I've also found that I've grown more attached to those brother who should have died but end up turning into a solid end game bro than the uber hedgeknight who was always amazing.
