How much easier is the game with the tryout mod?
Do you think its basically cheating making the game way too easy or is it somewhat balanced and only makes the game slightly easier? Without the mod I almost never use tryout. Curious what you guys think

Which version? There are several tryout mods that do different things.

I think it's easier than beginner because beginner only gives you the equivalent of one star on melee skill and melee defense.

The one that shows traits, rolls and stars. Even on EELI would it still be too easy?

That makes tryout a no brainer and as such is heavily OP imo compared to vanilla, but who cares? If you enjoy to have that particular advantage, use it. It's a singleplayer game.

That's true but I do still enjoy a challenge, don't want it too easy. Does seem pretty OP lol but I like the concept of it

Ugh I would rather use this mod than be a SAVESCUMMER jk I shouldn't hate, its a single player game play how you want :cozybethesda:

You could use this mod for a more balanced approach. Still much better than vanilla, but at least there are drawbacks.

Even with top tier bros, the game is still challenging. You still need to build your bros right and the early game is still filled with risky fights. That said, the gold you lose in hiring and firing brothers is built into the economy. Meaning, if you remove the need to do that through a more robust tryout system, you should have more gold overall to make the game significantly easier.

I guess, I'm trying to say it will make the game easier, but it should present a challenge. Especially early on when brother quality is less influential.

I'd also add that taking out subpar brothers changes the game experience as well. You might find the game to be more boring when you don't need to build around a brother would is just "okay." I've also found that I've grown more attached to those brother who should have died but end up turning into a solid end game bro than the uber hedgeknight who was always amazing.
