Can you design your own characters?

Hello all,

This looks like the sort of game I might like, but, I much prefer games where I can create all my own characters. Can you do this or are all the characters premade by the developers?

You can take your characters to barburshops and customize their hair, facial hair, hair color, face, body type, and tattoos. Outside of the barburshops, you can name them, level them up stat wise, level them up perk wise, and give them any equipment that you can obtain.
The only thing that is predetermined is their base stats, starting traits, and talent stars. You can of course, hire from many different backgrounds of people for different ranges of starting stats.

I strongly recommend the game, that aside it works like this: you start with 3 mercenaries, and you can hire up to 20. Each can be renamed, change face, hairstyle, bear, tattous or no, body type, etc.

They are randomized, but certain backgrounds tend to have some "specific features", like cultist background have already tattoes, wild man have long dirty hair, etc.

The characters are all pretty much randomised. You can change the cosmetcs as mentioned. In the upcoming DLC it looks like we will finally be able to re dye shields and possibly some other items also to the colour scheme we want.

If you don't mind using editors there is BB-edit, which is pinned on the forums here. You can use that to change all the stats and traits via editing saves.

You cannot create your own characters but you can customize pre-existing ones.

I just wish you could at least have half-orcs (or even full orcs) and not just humans, in your mercenary warband. ;)
