is crafting worthwhile?

is crafting worthwhile? I have looked to make money at crafting, and after looking at 5-6 crafting items and then selling crafted items for money, you lose money overall. Additionally crafting ingredients can take up a lot of inventory space, so is crafting worthwhile? What are the most valuable crafting ingredients/created items?

Crafting is for getting the items to use, not for selling (except snake oil)

If you're just looking to make money then you'll need the alchemist follower, who will allow you to craft low-value crafting components into snake oil, while sells for significantly more than the individual components could be sold for. The main value of crafting comes from making armor attachments and some other nice items that can also be obtained only through crafting. Armour attachments are very much worth it, they are very strong, and there is no other way to obtain them.
