I know a good deal when I see one.
I was delivering a 5 day transport, and right as I was nearing my destination, a box fell off the back of my cart revealing a bunch of gems.

One my my men suggesting stealing the gems, and I told him get get back in line before I beat him.

I feel that the reputational risk outweighs any short term profit I could make.

How do you handle these situations?

When you scout haunted cemetary for a small fee, and some cultists offer you to double your pay to keep quiet, do you?

When you get the option to get paid from both parties, do you take it?

depends on the situations. Endgame? hell yes. I can deal with anything they throw at me after a few crisis and I'm totaly fine to be at war with a faction if that might be the outcome. early game? depends on how desperate I am for the money.

Pretty much never. Many of these options have a chance of failing the quest which penalizes your renown which makes you make less money on every contract in the future. Certainly not worth it for a smidgen extra gold right now.

Depends on how much they pay me.
If a necromancer is willing to pay me almost double what the village offered so he can keep the tome or crystal artifact or whatever, ♥♥♥♥ that village.
Messing with noble retainers on the other hand isn't a great idea unless you can handle not being allowed to access ~1/3rd of the map's towns. Being locked out of the only kennels sucks.

What about when you see the escaped prisoners? Do you turn them in for 50g?

When you see the guy with the broken down cart, do you rob him or help fix his wheel?

Most situations all have mutliple outcomes for all the options. I've gotten "Child along the side of the road" a couple times.. and he's injured a brother, killed the child, or the child stole an item from the inventory.

"bad" options will mostly effect honour or such, and have different outcomes, of course.
