Whats next for the Battle Brothers team?
Does anyone know what Overhype is working on next? My cursory search did not find the answer to this. I believe they said they were done with DLCs? Altho I hope not I know I'd buy more. Battle Brothers 2? Another game entirely?

If I had to take a completely unfounded guess, I would guess that Battle Brothers DLC was meant to pay for development of their new game.

They're only 3 guys and I'm sure they want to work on something new after spending so much time in the world of Battle Brothers.

But no, there's no info on what they're doing.

they said that they were done developing battle brothers soon after it released, that they'd only do bug fixes. however, due to the community reaction they started making dlcs, but i assume that this is just to fund their new project.

What is this new project? I thought they said they dusted that Modern Millitary thing.

I'm pretty sure that is their new project. They never said they dusted it.

Last time I heard about their project they were saying it was in pre-alpha phase, but I can't recall where I read it and it was some time ago, so it's likely to be more advanced by now.

I'd be on board with some gunfighty turn-based strategy from these devs. Honestly, all new squad-based combat games are pretty much copying either the old X-Com games, the new X-Com games or Jagged Alliance and generally doing a poor job of it.

These devs are beyond talented and might actually manage to improve on a tired formula.

Which is why I would prefer they didn't go "gun-fighty"...It's not really the guns, it's the setting. I hope it at least is in a dystopian setting, a modern real world would be so drab, and far too done.

I hope it is another DLC. The game still has a lot of underutilized functions such as the large city/noble faction leader screen. You can see various portraits of folks in the cities, be it a Noble House Leader of treasurer - this can be expanded upon to give extra missions and story lines.

The game still has the need for more terrain options, another crisis, more origins, more crafted items, more backgrounds, and more perks.

Add in another low level faction and the game can still grow. I would hate to see a faction outside of the current Germanic Norse theme.

While i would like to see all of this, i am afraid this'll never happen. I am extremely certain the expansions that have come out so far was just to fund their new project which'll become their sole focus sooner or later.
We'll have to see, but if they're done with Battle Brothers, I hope they let the community work on additional content. Mods are fine, but there are some things that are lacking in the base game, and I feel like at least part of that could be added through community projects and some minor effort on their part. Stuff like a barbarian crisis, more "alive" politics and faction interactions, maybe even mounts based on some of the Gobbo wolf humper code.

I don't want this game to be over. It has so much potential, and could become better still, despite already being a true masterpiece.

This game needs a lvl 11-21 expansion where you leave the current map, and sail to North America, where you fight Native American themed enemies and monsters.

This would become a survival model and should be inspired by the nordic settlers who discovered America before Columbus, and mysteriously vanished.

I wouldn't mind an actual good Jagged Alliance game. The last few we've had were total crap and completely missed the tactical aspect of the game.

no no think of it! A native tribal human- an combination of savage and goblin, with some units having the ability to shapeshift into a werewolf.

Animals representing American forests. Bears, Cougars, and Snakes.

New Permanent Injury: Scalped.
