Are There Any Time Limits?
Veterans of the game, I need your help. I am very interested in this game and would be happy to buy it, but I need to know one thing. I can't stand any kind of time limits in my games. So, are there some arbitrary "you have 7 weeks until the game ends" bull***t, or can I truly grow my mercenary company in peace and at my own leisure as long as I want or as long as I feel I want to finish "the main objectives"?

Game looks like a ton of fun otherwise!

No, but you do have to battle the undead or orcs in one of the random endgame scenerios, if you totally ignore them for a long time you can lose through inaction, but in practice this is pretty hard to do and you can extend the contest by winning a few missions.

Even then, if dont take permanent destruction at the beginning of your game, the crisis solve by themself, so no you dont have no time limits, minus some contract that have time to do them, but even then you cant just ditch them with little consequences.

The game is really worth it, the true definition of a hidden gem.

No, I would say it's even the opposite. The game factors in your company strength when it comes to triggering the endgame crisis. If you're not ready (too few bros, too low average level) the crisis won't trigger. Also you can largely ignore any crisis if you want with perma destruction turned off.

So there are absolutely no forced time limits.

No , there is in practice no time limits , you can develop your merc company aim for really endgame challenges , search for famed items for your company ,etcetcetc as your heart desires , some pplcall it finished for em doing only 1 crisis , some others 3-4 some others go for real endgame content that needs certain builds and equipment to be tackled reliably (just like everything else) or at all in fact , some others go endlessly , pls , look at some of the recent threads with similar doubts and ul find some more developed details about it if thats whaat u want so i dont have to paste blatantly my own comment from there xd , took myself well over a year eyeballing the game till i finally got it 2 years aog , have 1k houres nearly atm wich are in fact rookie numbers and had a blast since day one , only base game necesary , dlcs are great but maybe even best to play even once aniways without em or any of em at all then progresively add , isnt a game that holds your hand like many others do , based on learnign what to do and using some logic , ul die most of the time by own mistakes etcetcetc .. see what i said before .. so hard to tackle a question like yours without going all over the place to trie to give u a better picture xd lets leave it there for now

Wish you all to have a good day , fun at games and to stays afe out there

No time limits in game. Maybe real time limit in life when significant other tells you to stop playing.

Oh, you can play as long as you want. Usually right up until you rage quit after watching your elite bro's get slaughtered in some one sided, RNG BS nightmare battle! If you enjoy games that toy with your sanity, then this is the game for you!

Great news, thanks guys! This sounds absolutely perfect. Gonna pick this game up when I return from my trip then. Have to be careful these days, because I have bought many a tactics game based on reviews and screenshots, and then when I actually start playing, there is this number in the corner and I realize it's the turn limit. Makes me so mad. I still hate the original Fantasy General and Valkyria Chronicles for doing this to me. The only mod I use in XCOM 2 is the one that removes the time limit from the scenarios. I dunno why, I just can't take time limits. They stress me the f*** out. :P

Thanks again for the help.

Good news indeed , welcome to Battle Brothers .In a way is more investing and there are more things going on than xcom (player here )so yeah , remember to start on beginner and if u arent ready to embrace the bad outcomes out of lack of knowleadge of what to do unless you take prior starter tips or even then maybe best to start with a campaing with savefiles

I think I will just jump in blindly. I don't mind the first few mercenary bands getting obliterated because of noob leadership. :D I like to figure things out myself and learning from my mistakes, gradually optimizing everything. I love how the mercenaries have actual differences so you get attached to them. I am still waiting for a new version of Jagged Alliance. Some day...

In fact, every new start is a blind jump, because the map generation is random ^^ The combat RNG can be frustrating, but overall i had a blast with this game :-)

Im and old-school player and like this freedom, go and do whatever and whenever you want, no handhelding stuff and the limit is an enemy that 1 shots you xD and this mevieval-fantasy setting with this amount of freedom is a great concept.

Have fun with it

Sounds great! Game purchased today. I will try to find time to immerse myself this weekend. Happy battling. :)

I always play without permanent destruction. It's very fun to see how your humble and poor warriors become glorious fighters.
From time to time I like to retire some of them (they deserve it :brothersword:) and continue the campaign with remaining veterans and new recruits.

There are a few quests with time limits. When a noble house tells you "go to A then B then come back and kill as many enemies as you can up to 30, but come back in 4 days", you should come back in 4 days if you want to be paid.
