For the advice, i would tell you to get a good seed where the south is close to the nobles houses, or at least have a accessible port for it. As it will help you get indebted more easily.
Basically, always have the crack the whip buff applied (you can reapply the buff as well, end of their second round the buff goes away, this is important to note that because crack the whip also increases initiative). If you get an indebted you don't want to keep for later, making them a dodge tank is actually ok with the buff, increases defense and initiative.
So I like to build the Manhunters with 3-4 offensive Indebted (usually two handed mace for melee or various ranged builds, keep extra indebted in reserve and bring in the ones who will be the most useful for a given battle). With the Backstabber perk some exceptional indebted don't really need the whip to contribute anyway.
The rest of my indebted are built as Rotation shield tanks, usually with Nine Lives. Shieldwalling in groups of three, they don't need great stats to hold down a big chunk of the battlefield. Keep them on the flanks and funnel the enemy into the center of your formation- which should be loaded down with the biggest, baddest professional mercs you can hire.
Crack the Whip is still great for rallying wavering Indebted or tossing out if your merc has nothing better to do with his turn, but I don't think it's the real strength of the Manhunter origin.
TLDR: Don't build your team around the whip buff, instead build Indebted that are useful without the buff and rely on your regular mercs to deal out the damage.
For this DLC, i was started Manhunters E/L/E already 600 days, i have to say it's very hard and unbalanced, if in iron man, i don't think people can survive to the end.
- Manhunters buff must change (three turns or more powerful)
- It is not necessary to reduce the experience absorption by 15%
- Actually, it should increase the experience point absorption by 15% to 50%, maybe 75% or 100%
and more...but my English was too weak, so sorry guys.
For now i can say
- perk (1-1) must Learn
- don't let any indebted to learn "dodge build" or "light armor build", there is no way to survive in battle (buff or no buff)
- you have to let indebted survive in battle (no buff)
and more...
