It still suffers from poor armor ignoring damage problems, even with Duelist. It still suffers from split damage problems unless you are Hail spamming. It also suffers from a cumbersome 12 Fatigue per swing with mastery (Orc Cleaver is only 13).
I don't actually think CS is very good on it for that reason.
Fearsome is quite good on it though. Only the first hit can proc the 1-14 damage effect but all three hits benefit from the morale penalty assuming you can hit for 15 or more damage.
3Head users benefit a lot of nearby Hammers or 2H axe bros who can dent or strip armor first.
Big armours is for sure one of the things it handles poorly. I think for those battles (say orc warriors) ide be subbing in a 2h flail even with the point spent on duelist.
And by all means im not suggesting the 3h flail is the new meta, but i'm glad its now a passable weapon and pleased to discover it even has a new niches it fits into well.
the main question is duelist is even worth taking on 3h flail? I've not tested it, but it does sound like it could be skipped.
