Roleplay player ?
I just want to know if there's people like me who : Never zoom too far back on the map. Think RP and create fictive bond between members. Never go too far from their origin. Alway read all damn even, even after more than 1.5 hours. Find nicknames (or create/promote grades) only after achievements pn the field.... good or bad ones. Do not use only the best items... because the look is important ! Anyway...... there is RP players over here ? BB is a great game, but a hard one. I fully understand those who only seek challenge and optimisation. (I still play in expert ironman tho.)

Right here, to the point where I will limit my recruiting based on their background blurbs; fisherman strangled his wife in a fit of rage? That's not the kind of man we want in the company, no sir...

I have about ~2,000 hours and this is how I've always played the game. The narrative elements are deep enough that it always feels like a waste to ignore them.

I like to give my veterans names and even change their names if they achieve something significant in battle or start to use a named item with a distinct lore or look. For example my last fencer duelist went

Harun the Assassin
-> Harun the Water Dancer
-> Harun the Flicker
(Harun was Hexe mind controlled and one shotted one of my best 80 HP heavy BF men who even had high ground)
-> Harun the Magnificent
(His famed items ended up giving him an all golden and regal look)

Apart from that I'm mostly optimising, I'm afraid. I roll with the best stuff I can get recruit and item wise.

Really? That's exactly what I would hire xD A violent bastard.

I get that; i'm usually playing Northern Raiders origin, with an internal narrative that we're going legit and trying to get a good reputation for the company.

i know bro bios don't impact reputation, it's just part of my roleplaying, lol

This game is perfect for this. Random generated background, even if sometimes repetitive, do not look like generated so much. I had a flail spec squire, he was traumatized early... alway fleeing then. But he NEVER died and they never managed to get him killed once and for all. Roman the crazy weasel. He's still alive.

I've been wanting to run a company that emulates the Noble compositions and tries to match their perkline to some reasonable degree, but only having 12 bros on the field makes it difficult to emulate them, and doing Peasants emulating Nobles is counter to roleplay.

Also always get hung up on how I would do the Footman because low armor Forge is not a recipe for living, but switching them to Nimble feels counter to the roleplay.

Yes, that's why I have my latest campaign at almost 1600 days.

I don't do too much roleplay, but I did push to get southern hats and southern mail shirts for as close to everyone as I could justify, and matching shields. note the only nimbles in this list without either a southern hat or an assasin hat are the two with sallets, and that's not a mistake, the shortsighted guy with a missing eye and the archer are the only two I couldn't afford a -1vis hat on.

edit - actually one guy is using a named shield in that screenshot, I had a matching southern themed shield for him too, not sure why he wasn't using it

Constantly. Head Cannon really enhances BB and can be a great catalyst for different ways to play your company. Like always taking contracts out of places like Wunderstadt, no matter what, cuz the glory of Wunderstadt.

Can you make another mod for this? Cuz I think there are a lot of ways it could be really fun. Impoverished Noble trying to make his family fortune back, Upjumped Noble trying to prove they belong to upper society, or Disowned Noble trying rebuild the family name. Something like that.
16 bros on the field of course so you can have a proper noble army.

Footman conundrum: nimble forge? Seems kinda fitting for footmen who's job description is hold the line or else.

You are not alone. I tend to play by my own rules and have managed to find ways of fighting goblins without relying on dogs (as they seem to really want the player to use dogs against them).

Spearwall and archers. It's a slog, but I enjoy it.

Abel made that mod. I don't know how to do any modding myself.

I do think there is potential for some kind of Noble themed origin though. Would have been cool if the devs had made one.

I am a cheepskate and I have played for the longest time with only 4 - 6 daily waged recurits...

I have had some of the most fearsome armys of Cripples Beggars and Ratcatchers the world has ever seen lol.....

Now my fetish with being a cheep skate has gotten worse as I find my Companys often times being
1 lone wolf
6-8 Slaves
and a couple Cripples and beggers tossed in if i find one with amazing enough stats to keep....

It might not be roleplay persay but its certainly a far different way of playing compared to most people who think that having a Cripple or Begger in their lineup as some form of Blasphemy against the meta lol....

It kinda is a blasphemy against the meta, but that doesn't mean it couldn't work :steamhappy:

Can you ask him super duper nicely to make one then?
