Peat Bricks and other resources
In my game, they aren't worth much over the base cost. Is this different in other seeds? Also what about other resources?

Buy them in cheap/small towns and sell them in large cities.

Also trading goods get a bonus in selling rates if you sell them in a different region. Most things belong to the center region. Furs belong to northern region. Incense/Spices belong to South.

The only thing seed effects is whether or not you have good towns to buy or sell at through how they generated.

An ideal scenario would be having a large selling city very close to the 3 southern city states.

I've tried the Peat Bricks down south and whatnot, but they hardly pay.

Peat Bricks are the cheapest trade good in the game so they will never be particularly profitable. If you can buy them around 100 you can probably find a selling point for 120-130.

You don't make much on peat, but if you buy them cheap and are heading to other cities, it's basically free gold. 50-70 gold never hurts. I wouldn't go out of the way to trade for peat though. Now, other trade goods can be quite profitable when you find that ambushed trade route in a trade hub.

Peat might not be worth the inventory space depending on what part of the game you're at. If you can buy them at 90 and sell for 130+ then it's probably going to be worth it earlier on. If you have nowhere convenient to sell for a profit then i wouldn't probably bother as you'll make more on other trade goods or selling brigand weapons and armor.

Even at 40 GP in profit, it's not worth it. The space they take up is better when hunting enemies.

All kinds of events raise the price of goods in general. If you buy at or below cost then move them a fair distance to a town with 2 price events at once, you can make a killing.

This is how all goods work.

Your not going to make more than 30 or 40% very often but its free money when you have the space (you can often make 10-20% instantly just by heading to the closest city.

Only times peat are worth it if you get the occasion map with towns in big swamps that has a huge stock of peat bricks(6-8 peat for standard stock), then you can make up the profit through volume.
Otherwise, they're hardly worth it.

Peat Bricks are cheap yes but they sell for good price in the southern cities, not only does the cities have the large city bonus, but also 20% bonus for Peats, also if you are doing trade i suggest you get max rep for both buying location and selling location that is 2% cheaper on the buy and 2% more revenue on the sell.

I personally never buy peat bricks unless for the ambition. As already pointed out, the profit is not worth the space they take up usually.
