Goining total Outlaw.
Has anyone tryed goinng total outlaw?
That is not trading whit any faction and only aquere supplys by raiding caravans or settlemennts. Is it even poseble or do i have to keep one faction at least neutral to get fresh recrutes?

I think you need at least one faction to be okay with you. Sometimes you find food and tools after fights, but not reliably enough that you can go without being able to visit settlements to resupply sometimes. Selling stuff you loot but don't need to use is kind of key for having enough money to operate as your mercs become more experienced and expensive.

But yeah I've thought of doing a playthrough where I am primarily a raider with just one friendly house and instead of doing contracts most of the time just raid caravans. Since I enjoy the privateering missions so much I probably would enjoy it as long as I had some other options to take a break from it, which also would require at least one friendly house.

I think you are right about needing to keep at least one faction neutral uf for nothing else then getting new recrutes. Picking the house whit fewest settlements might be answer to that and that also gives a chance to take contract from that house from time to time.

I desided to try this out.
Map seed is 67f350, got some desent resources high values beging Dye - Salt - Amber - Fur
Starters are
Axe : Bloodthursty - Sure footing
Spear : Bloodthursty - Brave
Crossb : Bright - Loyal
Map layout is fine, unexplored at East edge mostly, whit small amounts of fog on main roads and in SW corner.
Factions are as follows:
In North rules Krieger whit 4 settlements.
Middle is owned by Folsach whit 5 settlments.
South is controled by Goswin whit 8 settlements. They also control most of higer values resources.
I started by taking first assignment and killed the Wessel. Then made two towns from Krieger friendly then going south to plunder caravans. Only head back North if i need to refresh troops or get new ones. Now at day 15 i have no big issuess yet exept for tools to repear my iteams. I know its not far in game but this seams to be a farly resonable way to make progress 😊😊
Will add more info once i realy get days going

This experimennt did not end well. By day 55 all other citys but from my friend House Krieger where actively hunting my gang every time i came in ti vivew of them. Caravans from citys that i had raided most have now heavy footmen and billmen. My medium armored guys are no match for even a small caravan of one cart and 6-9 guards. Supplies are low to none existace, and prices in friendly towns are very high do to me raiding traders heading there way. Killing of a caravan from one city also effects al though only slightly the town it eas heading to.
So all in all this has bin fun test but i do not think this is a viable way ti reatch the end game. My group now consist of 5 mercs and i have lost 24 men, mostly in last 10-15 days, and coin to recrut new ones are limeted.

Hope this helps some what.

This was intresting reading. It seams maps may proof the key to succsess in keeping a brigand party alive. For me i lost do to lack of tools and better armor. But i will give it a go another time.
