Event frequency
Hello everyone as many of you have already figured out by just playing the game events can be pretty annoying to trigger . I for one really enjoy when a lot of random events happen so i was wondering if anyone has any idea how we can edit a file or something to make them happen more frequently . Or if there are any cheats to force events , any mods , any trainers and that sort of stuff that has anything to do with events.

Editing game files other than graphics is really hard at the moment. Everyone else is waiting for modding tools, as far as I know, just like you.

Tough luck, unless you somehow find out how to unpack the data files.

Aw was really hoping to be able to edit that stuff waiting for an event is so annoying.

Events are common at start, then they get rare.

Also a lot of events just add +mood to someone. Almost useless.

Exactly but there also the cool one like getting a wolf instead of a dog ive never had that . The retired solder training an apprentice ive never had that aswell . The swordmaster or whatev training someone else whatever my poin is there are a lot of really fun events that barely happen in my games and i dont like that.

I don't think events are too sparse. It rarely goes for more than a day or two without events for me. Granted, if you're waiting for some specific event (like bow/wolfhide mail) it can take a lot of time for it to trigger. But...

...I think you're missing point of events. They're there not to boost your stats or whatnot (some of them do tho). Their main goal is to add flavour. Same is true for backgounds traits, they're there not to help you min-max but to add character to each merc.

It's kinda reccuring theme. That a lot of ppl seem to not get the "failling is fun" aspect of the game. All are focused on min-maxing and optimizing every little aspect of your party. Like it's necessary to beat the game, or even to enjoy it.

And don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that there's anything wrong in min-maxing itself. But It seems to me that very few ppl are actually appreciating storytelling side of the game, as their focus on optimizing everything makes them loose sight of it. And imho game does excelent job of telling interesting and unique stories, if you let it. Not to the extent DF does, but it's very much similar in that regard.

And it frustrates the hell out of me how little appreciation this aspect of the game gets. As devs have done marvellous job of coding all those events. Casey did a great job with writing descriptions for all of them. Keeping them interesting as well as humorous and grim, often at the same time. Writing in this game is top-notch. Kudos to you, again :)

And yet, nobody talks about that. It's only whine that this or other ♥♥♥♥ is useless or pointless. Or that game is hard and you can't just stroll through it like it was Hello Kitty Adventure Island or smth.

Ok... Sry, had to vent a bit :)

I am not whining friend i am just asking if anyone knows how to do this i am pretty sure not the only 1 that will benefit from that information even if your dont think you would . I am just trying to tailor my experience the way i think i would enjoy it to the fullest.

Sry, wasn't aiming any of those comments at you in particular. Just wanted to post a few general observations. Sry, it was mostly offtopic and not really helpful in any form or manner. But it wasn't meant to be. I just needed to vent a bit. And if you look at most threads... it's not like I'm wrong ;)

But there's not much else to say besides what already have been said. Untill we get mod support or someone deconstructs the code there's nothing to be done.

Best advice I can give you is to just be patient, those events will fire sooner or later. But it's not much of an advice really.

I do hope you enjoy the game. Best of luck on the battlefields.
