it's never going to go to like $5 or something like that, so don't expect that.
That's kinda of BS. They cost as much as the base game costs and not having them on sale again on Lunar Year is pretty cheap from the devs.
They would make much more money if they would let go their ego for once and added some -50% for the DLC's as well. Alas, as you sow, so shall you reap.
Nobody is obliged to sell their product at a discount, especially at a huge discount. If BB's devs want to keep a certain price tag its their right to do so and not your place to try and school them how to handle their product in such an authoritative and condescending manner.
Are you even aware of this game's creation context? It's an indie created by just a couple of people, not a big studio that has numerous products already out and several more in the pipeline at all times. Still even the base game can easily compete with major league titles. It's receiving balancing support long after many other titles are pretty much abandoned. Unlike in the case of many modern games DLCs are not something that's been cut out from the base game just to sell it later on. One DLC is completely free. And you are here on your high horse behaving like it's some kind of an insult not to have it all made available at half a price.
I for one am very much happy to spend my money knowing that for once it goes to people who have truly earned it. You are in no way obliged to do the same yourself but for Davkul's sake, get a grip because with that tone you sound like someone who has yet to earn their first buck themselves.
But honestly I bought the BB expansions recently, and I'm not regretting it.
I think the devs deserve my extra money.
If you need even more reason for the DLC, certain mods (namely a large overhaul called Legends) require some if not all the DLC. If the DLC doesn't bring enough change, Legends sure as hell will.
You can fanboy all day long, it won't change the fact though. The DLC's never were on sale and it wouldn't hurt the studio you fanboy so hard, to earn some more bucks by doing so.
I would think (hope, maybe) that they've run the benefit analysis of putting their product on sale. A 50% discount would have to generate twice as many sales to create an equal rate of revenue (give or take the incremental amount that Steam takes). Maybe their metrics indicate that current sales are so robust that a doubling would not be likely under such a scenario.
Sales are nice for us. But in fairness, the devs are trying to run a business.
I find myself often using more content from WotN than B&E, tho the game is alot better and moddable if you have both.
Definitely if it's ever on sale, or you just have 10 bucks and nothing for it, check out WotN. I don't regret it, but I'm sure I would if I only had B&E. They just happen to complement eachother nicely, not unlike CK2 expansions imo.
