- 87 for militia (min-rolled 2 star poacher).
- 92 for others (min-rolled 2 star hunter). Or even 95 for average-rolled 2 star hunter. Otherwise what's the point of playing non-militia bg?
For reference, absolute best archer is 104 (max-rolled 3 star hunter) + iron lungs + confident.
If you want to fight Kraken, Sea of Tents, Monolith, Chosen Horde, then you maybe want to be a little more picky.
80 skill, 30 defense is fine as you say, especially so on Beginner, but you can survive with less. In my current run I have a 70 skill Mace Duelist with Fast Ad., Gifted, and Backstabber and 38 defense. A lot of people would have fired him or used him as a tank because 70 skill with all of the accuracy perks is not what people usually associate with damage dealers, but he's viable nonetheless. I have another Duelist on this squad with 87 skill and 22 defense.
There are perks to fix most problems a bro might have and make him good enough. For example, a low defense bro can either A) Use a shield, B) Use a Polearm, C) Patch it with defensive perks, D) Survive with Indom spam.
My point is that you don't need to stress so much about finding exactly 80+/30+ bros. There are ways to mold most semi-competent units into something good.
Bow archers want 90+ skill imo, Xbow/Throwing is fine at 80+.
That having been said, if you want to clear extreme high-end locations, you will need to grind for something like 85+ melee skill, 90+ ranged skill, 30+ mdef, etc. 100-120 hp on Nimble (140 is the dream), 130+ fat on BF. These are lvl 11 values.
People usually like resolve above 50 pre-banner buff (on frontliners only).
These are the generally accepted "minimums" for extreme bros.
Even these have some wiggle room. Thrower duelists can easily be super powerful with just 80 ranged skill.
However, if your goal is to beat crises and the vast majority of content/camps, including 3-skull contracts and other scaled content, then all you need to do is have a basic understanding of the mechanics. Most if not all builds are "late-game viable" in this sense, and the player is much more important than the bros.
Once you learn the game, the best you can do is build for a bro's strengths, whatever that happens to be. There are a ton of roles/weapons that bros can mix and match. I've done well with like 4 initiative duelists and an initiative 2-hander all on the frontline. The sky's the limit.
