Reputation (please help me understand it)
350+ hours into the game and i still can't seem to shift it to a positive reputation.
I have had a negative reputation before and apparently that opens up new types of contracts.

Are there any benefits for (eventually) having a positive reputation? I've searched these forums and it seems most people are confusing it with renown; which of course, I have no problem understanding.
When various events occur, i always choose the reputable path; the path of "good". Examples:

I never slit prisoners throats
I always help broken down carts
I never destroy a faction's farm
I always pay damages for the wildman event
I always tell my mercs to behave and apologise to citizens for the bullying event
I never steal from blind men
I never decline a mission
I always help citizens in need i.e. cat in a tree
I never steal the two handed sword at the burial event
etc

Even 200+ days into a game, the reputation does not shift. It really does seem to only be able to go negative for me.

Can someone with experience help me out? It's quite frustrating...

It's probably one of the features that were left behind during the develepment. I have never seen it doing anything and I'm always trying to be nice and don't steal wildman money, don't rob travelers etc.

It is simply doing House missions within X time. after X time of not doing anything but trading running around. attacking brigands and patrols (if in noble war)

The reputation will drop again back to neutral. so to gain allied you just need to keep on doing house missions.

What is asked about is the reputation... not your affiliation with the nobles or the towns...
You start neautral, but can go into negative (or what ever its called) by attacking traders... but its apparently impossible to become positive or "GOOD"...

Don´t know the last patch, didn´t play it anymore.

But before last patch if you gotten into negative that no towns will trade with you. then you are F.
As long town still trade with you and don´t go RED you can gain back reputation.

If having everything RED and impossible to trade with. you need to wait for a NOBLE war.
Then at the end of the noble war. all towns of factions you didn´t support will turn to COLD reputation. which still means you can trade with them again. and do there missions. (none house missions) to regrind the reputation.

never accept contracts involving burning down farms, barns, villages, etc.

As the dark wizard said, I do not mean affiliation (hostile/unfriendly/cold/neutral/friendly/allied). I am asking about reputation.

Dan from what I have read its impossible to go positive... I have gone fully good, and fully bad, and honestly I don't really see and diffrence to the quest either...
For the most part I just do the options that I know will net me a profit.
