is there a way to 'edit' perks and stats on brothers?
i want to test some builds, in particular, whether nimble daggerman is worth it, and on which background, and couple of others.

Is there a trainer, or a way to edit some file somewhere to 'create' test brothers?

Only way I'm aware of. If you go to the "More basics" section there's a way to edit stats/perks points. Hope that helps.

Take overwhelm and dagger mastery for your nimble daggerman, if you do end up selecting one. They can be very useful with enough fatigue.

I tried Nimble dagger Duelist, and he sucked :( Not enough damage if not spamming Puncture; and if spamming Puncture, then Fatigues out too quickly. Also very fragile - even with the very best recruits...

There's not much point using Duellist on a Dagger Master, because Puncture completely ignores armour anyway but doesn't do additional damage with double-grip.

I think you need to use Recover for Dagger Masters, because 3xPuncture=45 fatigue per turn, and because you want high initiative to take advantage of Overwhelm and Dodge. That way, having an especially high pool of fatigue isn't crucial.

If you're 100% Nimble, hit points (and 30/30 "armours" with no fatigue cost) count double, making Colossus desirable to boost the total, and Steel Brow to remove excess losses. Also, the additional guaranteed 50% all-round damage reduction from Indomitable is very powerful when combined with Nimble, and the action point cost of the skill (3) fits nicely with the 3 used for Puncture with Dagger Mastery. Indomitable = even more fatigue usage, but that's another reason to make use of Recover.

If you don't want to be 100% Nimble, you can take Brawny and still be c. 50% Nimble wearing a reinforced mail hauberk (210 armour and 26 fatigue) and a nasal helm with mail (200 armour and 12 fatigue). With those armours, you could combine Battle Forged and Nimble and have high protection plus massive all-round damage reduction.

P.S. If you install the Cheat Engine app (easily found via a web search), there are ways to automatically bestow perk points (or just increase Experience Points to 15000). I wrote a guide on it in the Guides section.

It took me many hours of experimentation and examining small details in screenshots before I was able to alter stats based on the above guide, so afterwards I wrote my own guide with detailed step-by-step descriptions of what I did:
