the map size dont really matter, its quality over quantity.
density in the sense of varity of backgrounds, weapons and enemy types i would say is really good.
like i mentioned above, you have to spend some time to understand the mechanics and then you can adapt your playing style into the game... theres not one way to play, so you have to experiment a lot (whats more fun for me) or you can go with some meta stuff...
its about you and how you want to play!
but if you want to look for a challange and you figured out your way, then i would highly recommend to play ironman mode to test your brothers with some real challanges, without all the savegames! (if you just want to enjoy the progress of your bros and dominate, then play without ironman!)
The next DLC Burning Desert will increase again the size in order to add Deserts and Southern towns
no, the maps did not change size in warriors of the north DLC. that is why the pinned map seed thread on this forum was not replaced by a new thread when the dlc came out. the dlc did add one legendary location to the maps, and did bring new starting bros to the seeds, but the maps are largely unchanged from beasts dlc era.
