Wow, so Witch Hunters are very useful with the new DLC then.
That always has been the case. Seeing the huge potential advantage a dog gives I disagree about it being bad design, it´s a solid balance choice. Pretty much what Holy - death said.
Why would keeping a dog prevent anyone from wearing a necklace
Yup. Immersion-breaking, if anything.
Not that much, once you consider to keep a dog from rushing into battle would require a leash and collar (and also probally a proper belt to hook them too, so one could still use weapons and fight). That would easily take up the gear spot of any necklace or sash (remember seargent sash, which goes across body also takes the slot, so shouldn't think of it as necklace slot to start.).
Which is why we want a neck slot, though.
Sash and leash can take the strap slot.
It actually isn't balanced.
