Just like how a taxi driver shouldnt need to ask the customer how to get to the airport they wanna get to.
Well this isnt a taxi service, and im sure our employer would point us to where he wants us to be.
Even then the ability to look at the map before accepting would do wonders for the game. Oh want me to rescue a village against greenskin? Oh look its halfway across the map that by the time i go and come back plus expenditure i would only earn 100g for all this work. NO WAY
Strange, these quests usually just lead you neighboring areas
I literally spent 10 minutes scanning the entire map for Ragnars ♥♥♥♥♥ (not actual name) and just gave up.
It's still pretty bad sometimes, I def. had plenty of contracts where I straight up could not find the location the guy mentioned (Presumably it's somewhere in the unexplored area every map has). On the flipside, you CAN take it as a decent excuse to just roam around exploring and clearing locations, and then have a potential paycheck once you're back.
The specific issue with Greenskin contracts being halfway across the map:
Let's assume there are 3 factions on the map. Sun, Deer and Neutral. In the north, there are mostly Deer-Cities, but right in the middle there is a single Sun-City. Contracts for killing marauding Greenskins (At least as far as I know) are never actually given in the town that is being raided, but instead come from another allied town.
So if you happen to take the contract in the singled out city up north, the only other allied cities nearby are all the way down south. So the contractor is sending you on a 3-4 day journey for a midsized payment. Sometimes happens the other way around too. If the singled out city up north has marauding greenskins, you might get the greenskin contract from a place that is nowhere near the place.
I think it would help if the city that's being raided would hand out the contract, instead of a random allied one. Or better yet: If you could pick up the payment at the city you saved, not where you actually got the job. I've skipped half a dozen contracts because of stuff like this.
I had a quest given to find something in 'Two Plains'. The name itself was 2 days away to the southwest. For a 300 contract around day 8. It so happened that the ruins I was tasked to find was barely 1/2 day straight south. And it was in a forest between mountains.
So the regions shoudl really have a smaller area, and be limited to hexes that match their names.
Maybe the devs expect you to hit some camps as you explore to get loot and money that way but if I wanted to go exploring while under a contract I would take a patrol mission for heads and go into the wilds that way.
