tiny/iron lungs hunter would make a great archer, lots of great traits to pair with iron lungs for an archer though.
Quick / Athletic Ratcatcher Dodge, Nimble Lone Wolf flanker
Fearless (+10 resolve), iron lungs witch hunter for ultimate bannerman.
I used to love Strong/Ironman combo - if I could find one - but now I'd rather ditch Strong and get something like Fearless, given all the Resolve test encounters.
Ah, sorry. Brave/Iron Lungs Witch Hunter was my bannerman, and he was insane in terms of Resolve at the end - like 135 at level 10? But the problem is that even at 155 effectively (with the Background bonus), he would still have 5 percent chance to fail any Resolve check, simply because you can never eliminate the RNG altogether in this game for most checks.
I’ll take a shot here. Tough/Sure footed rat catcher. Would make an interesting nimble build.
2nd try.
Dexterous/paranoid peddler. Would make a useless (in terms of offense) tank build even with perfect traits. But starting Mdef would be like 20.
I assume the traditional big four "premium" Backgrounds:
Hedge Knight, Sellsword, Adventurous Noble, Swordmaster.
Sellswords and Adventurous Nobles also have their own individual "pay me more" Events ;)
I think Miners could be a really interesting for nimble builds. They can roll with massive hp and resolve. Whats interesting here is that i expect most players pass them right by cos they have been roundly ignored due to fatigue penalty.
Theives are cheap and often awesome for melee.
You are right; I never even checked Miners, because of the Fatigue deficit. So I didn't realize they have such high starting max HP and Resolve!

There's also events that can happen for miners to increase their fatigue. Not sure how often, but I've gotten it at least once and it gave +5 fatigue from the event.
Throw in some extra rando training events from high level bros of different backgrounds, marching through mountain terrain a lot, etc and that Miner is starting to have decent base fatigue.
What does marching through mountains do? Sorry for stupid questions - I stopped playing more than a year ago, and I just picked it back up.
