If you crit the witch on head, it's fairly likely to result in a dead soldier.
Exactly what I did with a dagger. Thought Giselher would've been able to take one dagger punch... Maybe he could have. Just not through cerebral cortex.
I generally found Hexes super annoying, since I'm too lazy to lug around enough maces, but in my current warband I have a ton of low HP dodgy types who I've given Nine Lives to, and that makes Hexes relatively easy.
Only problem is if I ever end up hitting for just enough damage to kill my bro but not the Hexe.
Huh...so 9 lives can save from the Hex? Nice!
I don't really do anything special with them, other that prefer bow over crossbow on a pair of archers to more easily snipe them from a distance. Other than that its just a lot of brothers with shields and pikes.
IF someone gets charmed, (a rather big if, if resolve is strong) simply push them and move away. They then use all thier points giving chase, can't attack, and turn back next turn thanks to resilent.
Hexen, don't seem to use the curse, unless your melee start to get close, so simply shoot the hexe (an unarmored and not particularly high hp enemy) with the bows, and keep the melee back dealing with any bodyguards, or pushing away charmed bros.
Resilient saves you from the Mind Control part of the Hexes, not the Hex part of the Hexes, which was the issue here.
For me, 9 lives is not expressly for dealing with Hexes, it's the alternative tier 1 perk to Colossus in my warband, for the guys who don't have good enough HP to make Colossus useful.
