golden goose
currently u get 3k+ from selling it and 15 crowns per day.

that makes 200+ days u need to keep it compared to selling it. theres no real value in keeping it with that low crown generation. the crowns per day need to be like 100+ crowns to make keeping it worthwhile.

Its free.
You get a net gain if you keep it for ~200+ days.
Its free money.

I don't see the problem.

Most of my games are over 200 days. Did you need any special character backgrounds to get this event?

It's a fun little item. Keep it or sell it. As Fieser points out, it IS free.

Look for a unique location on the map. Shipwreck, was near a forrest and mountain for me.

15 does seems a little low. I mean, at day 200 how much use is 15 gold a day really? 100 is definitely too high though. Maybe like 50 so it can at least pay for a days worth of food. That would be benificial all through the game.
the point is right now u dont have to think about keeping or selling it. just get the 3k+ crowns and be done with it since 15 a day is not worth keeping, but my guess is the item was designed to force that decision from u.

isnt there simpler, much more obvious solution ?
keep it until you are pressed for money and then sell it - it will give you 3k gold plus all that gold from goose on top of it.

Not only that but what if it has further events? Like a merchant that just has to have it. Have been offered money for some of the new stuff. Maybe it might be worth even more than 3k.

I sold mine for 4.6K. Allied city + ambushed caravan + some sorta fair event going on. Figured I wasn't going to play for another 300 days.

....and even if I was, losing out on an inventory space is probably going to cost you in the long run anyway, if you're loading up on loot.

Every sports team needs a mascot.
You are a band of misfits that literally goes out to kill people just to earn some hard coin.
The moment you find a golden goose statue that ♥♥♥♥♥ money you should make it your mascot!
Put it at the top of your banner!

Can be sold for 4k+ in certain cities, but if you're playing a long campaign then i don't see the point in selling it, good for some quick money but much more valuable in the long run.

Except it isn't. If you're playing long enough to actually turn a profit from the money generation itself rather then selling it outright you have already spent/accumulated in gear hundreds of thousands crowns and that little trickle of coins means f-all in comparison.
Not exactly complaining about getting money for free here but it is rather uninspired for a fabled artifact. It'd be much more interesting if it had some effect on morale, caused random events or was a part of a quest - right now it's just another shiny bauble to sell. Shame.

I found mine on day 8 so it was a pretty nice find. Early on 15 crowns a day can pay the wages for one or two brothers. At the start every little bit counts.

You can always sell it later. It's not losing value and its paying for that farmhand you just hired as a backup.
