Unhold fur cloak - why does this suck so bad??
i was going to put this under suggestions but i want to get some other player input and see if im missing anything (and for the record, i love armor attachments, one of my fav things in this dlc)

so you need 2 thick white fur from white unholds to make unhold fur cloak, not the hardest items to get but not the easiest either since they arent that common as drops and white unholds are rarer than normal ones, at least on my map

when u make it you u get this freaking sick looking cloak that looks even better when u attach to armor

and then u look at thte effect and u fall over laughing cuz its useless

ranged dmg isnt a big threat past mid game and even if it was, -20% is too little and its for body hits only, hell even additional fur padding is prob better for surviving ranged fire and its easier to make

imo to keep the spirit of the item it should be buffed to +15 durability and 25-33% ranged reduction to be defensive counterpart to wolf mantle

on other note i thinnk 'living' tree shield should regen like davkul armor (tho obviously not as much, maybe like 5 per turn?) since its super unimpressive otherwise for being hard to make

what do u think?

It's not terrible useful, but honestly I am still putting it on my gear. I look sweet as heck running around pimped out.

never saw a white unhold in the 105 game days I played in one game since this dlc, but I think I agree, I'd rather use the white unhold fur for additional padding than for the cloak. not totaly sure that means they should buff the cloak though.

Absolutely agree that living tree shield should have some regen. I think it should auto regen to full after every battle as well.

at some point, you gotta ask yourself... is life really worth living without fashion?

Both the unhold cloak and the additional fur padding need strengthening. Both should be good for when you face large numbers of bandits supported by a good number of markmen and the archer masters or for when you face against high numbers of goblins, but they really dont cut it. Neither prevent the actual hit and thier debuff to the damage is insufficient.

I also completely agree that a living tree shield should be alive and regenerate. Orcs have always been the bane of named shields and a counter would be nice.

It's best-suited for goblin ambusher spam. It's going to be better than the standard (bone) attachment for any situation where you get hit by arrows more than 5 times before your armor is gone from those arrows or other factors.... that would be ambusher spam. May help avoid an injury from a crossbow as well, but not a huge effect there, a similar recipe is for reducing armor penetration at 33% magnitude instead of 20%, the idea apparently being crossbow and dagger special hits.

They could probably both use a small buff. After goblin city I'd be tempted to just replace the white cloaks.

I like the idea of adding +15 durability to this attachment. I use it on my archer who doesn't have a lot of ranged defense, but it's mostly for looks, bone plating is vastly superior.

Additional fur padding is super niche as well. Perhaps useful in midgame to protect against crossbows, but useless once you get 300+ armor. It doesn't protect against headshots, which are the biggest danger. It's useful vs daggers, but there aren't many scary dagger - wielding enemies. A +15 or +10 durability here would also be quite nice.

Ofc it does! Just like RGB lights on your RAM make it faster!

This is common knowledge!

fur cloak is pretty good when you zweihander has poor ranged defense. I've seen all the goblins aim against just this bro, with the poison and and problems that this mean.

Yeah, it definitely needs 15 extra condition, kinda like a high level wolf attachment.

Living tree shield isnt bad, its actually pretty gud until you get some doped named shields, it also isnt that hard to make (by around turn 200 i had 4 bois whit one having lost 1 to orc axe spam and also having resources to make a couple more) if you take certain beast hunting contracts you can get one whit schratchs in it and they usualy spawn in the area of the contract (i got around 10 in mutliple groups in 1 contract so isnt that bad), might be luck tho.

Otherwise i agree, aside from looking like badass son of a betch there isnt much to the cloak, fur pading is i think also useless as there isnt that many enemies whit hammer and maces around.

That cloak tho
McGrits Jan 26, 2019 @ 10:46pm
The fur padding should be a counter to the armor bypass weapons that goblins use. Unfortunately, it doesn't really get there.
Caledor Jan 26, 2019 @ 11:08pm
I always give it to my archers.
