Heavy armor doesn't work with archers - you'll get killed by a headshot due to light (not-vision-impending) helmet without nimble. Or won't be able to shoot beyond few tiles.
Sure, in pre-nimble times heavy archers were a thing, but only because it was either that or dead. It's crap compared to modern nimble.
If he has stars in melee attack I would go Hybrid. If not just go regular archer.
Oh, I forgot to mention: This guy also has Eagle Eye; and I am planning on playing beyond level 20 - to see if I can tackle end-game encounters with a Lone Wolf Origin. So I have enough stat points to wear heavy armor, if I build for it from the get-go.
I've never built a throwing weapon character, but I plan on experimenting with one for this run, since I have a finite number of men and many roles to fulfill in a Lone Wolf run!
Does Initiative matter for Overwhelm? I thought enemy characters will get Overwhelmed and stay Overwhelmed until they go again?
Oh, damn. Thanks for letting me know though!
I haven't quite finished the builds yet, but I'm trying moderate Ini (110-115) + relentless + dodge + overwhelm builds in current run.
Idea is that while I won't go first initially (on combat start it's not necessary anyway), eventually halved Ini loss from fatigue buildup will allow me to use overwhelm (on turn 3 or so, I hope).
