Anyone reach "end game" with Lone Wolf yet?
I mean, have any of you done the most difficulty content or are close to it? The reason I ask is that I am really worried if end game content will be too much when you in fact have 2-3 injured guys, and you are forced to field 9-10 - or even lower. I would assume, unlike other Origins, the difficulty curve will only increase with Lone Wolf, and I worry if this will prove to be too much.

The kraken fight in an Ironman Lone Wolf seems insane if you're not into alt+f4

Bandits, Barbarians and animals are massacred, but I avoid orcs and undead(with gheists) like the plague (no bannerman yet, and I'm thinking of skipping him as a whole, everybody picks fortified mind instead)
1 shield bro, 1 ranged guy that I found recently, the rest go with variations of 2 handed stuff :)
Hardest defeated enemies so far - 3 shrats/ 20+ barbarian king groups (I've killed a lot of barbarian kings since my map seed has 3-4 forts in close proximity and the quest spawns often).
DIfficulty Expert, w/o ironman (the occasional load spam is needed to avoid alps and such)
Just so you know alps are way easier now without that sleep bs, Just spam dogs.

Like... there is no difference to a normal ironman run for the Kraken? As reserves dont really matter for him.

Have you already tried the Militia Background? I am currently -trying- to start off with it but its just awful xD

The Early Game feels 10x harder than Lonewolf.

I made my lone wolf a 2h axe bro rather than the 2h sword. This gives him the added defense by hitting at two hexes (with a shield bro in between) and still having great offense with the up close and personal. He anchors my left flank which is nice. I haven't tried the bardiche yet. How does it compare to the greataxe and mansplitter?

You can beat him with your company and loose your avatar in the one shot attack.

The bardiche is awesome as main weapon for your lone wolf if fighting in the formation rather than on flanks due to the ability to choose between Split Man and Split without having to carry multiple weapons and with only one weapon specialization (axe). Its stats are clearly inferior to greataxe and mansplitter if you only care about the singletarget Split Man damage due to 5 lower base damage than greataxe and only doing 130% armour damage rather than 150% (it has same 40% ignore armour%).

FWIW my lone wolf origins hedge knight uses a bardiche as primary weapon with a longaxe in his pack for Lindwurms and for swapping in if he gets hammered badly enough that fighting from the 2nd rank is indicated and I don't take quick hands since he's almost always at the front in contact with the enemy.

I guess if one really wanted to optimize for max damage one could take axe spec and carry a bardiche or greatsword for AOE (greatsword doesn't match spec but has more options), a greataxe/mansplitter for single target, and a longaxe for 2nd row fighting, and then take the quick hands perk and the substantial fatigue hit of carrying three weapons, but I've found that bardiche and longaxe without quick hands works well enough for me.

Wait, doesn't bardiche covered under Axe Specialization?

Day 90 lone wolf, my avatar slaps orc berserkers around and solo white unholds without any issue. The main challenge is trying to train up new recruits to veteran without losing them from being swamped by enemies,

It's very fun but the challenge is getting a full party of veterans. Grindy but I'm swimming in money and good equipment. I'm nowhere near being able to farm krakens and lindwurms though.

Yes, it does. Which is why bardiche/longaxe is a good combination, and bardiche/(greataxe or orc/barbarian equivalent)/longaxe is a heavy but good tri-weapon combination (though it really calls for taking QH to sue the greataxe for single target and bardiche for split).

Ah, ok. I got a bit confused by your initial wording.

By the way, what armor attachments do you put on your front-liners? I put Bone Plate for the shield guys and Direwolf Pelt for the 2Hs. I may eventually put Bone Plate on the 2Hs as well (for now, it's simply due to lack of sufficient materials), but Direwolf Pelt is doing surprising well - given that it is causing a lot of routes and giving my 2Hs free swings/kills. Of course, the harder mobs will not be feared so easily, and I ought to gear/specialize for the hard fights...

I am on day 200 or so; I have 10 guys who are "keepers" - including the Lone Wolf himself. I basically only recruited a very small set of cheap Backgrounds that also have decent stat potential (e.g. Farmers, Wildmen, et al.) - with the exception of one (semi-) expensive Background in Hunters (necessary for ranged) and the day 1 Squire (whom I re-loaded the same seed nonstop to get). And if you recruit nonstop, then chances are you will eventually find many good ones, as long as you fish from cheaper Backgrounds.

I have been stuck on 10 characters for a while though. And it's sometimes difficult to deal with some of the harder fights at this stage. I've avoided things like Necrosavants, Lindwurms, Schrats altogether. And sometimes you get multiple guys with bad injuries (like -Melee Defense or HP) - which makes you sit for a bit.
