Davkul's Cultists. How often are the special events meant to happen?
My current playthrough using cultists I have reached 30 days and the only special event i've had is recruiting a cultist and giving him the mark of Davkul so he gets +2 resolve. Are the sacrifice events meant to be super rare or are they common-ish occurrance? I also havnt received a single free cultist either.

I am hoping the sacrifices are rare or you'd have troubles making any form of a decent warband.

I got one where I had to sacrifice one bro. The benefit was +5 resolve and no resolve check for hit point damage for all cultist in my party. Honestly a pretty useless benefit because it only applies to cultist and cultist aren't top tier background. The worst part is there wasn't an option to not sacrifice anymore unlike the event for davkul armor.

That does sound useful if you are trying for a full cultist party like I am since if I am a Davkul worshipper I am going all out, but otherwise I can see why that would be lackluster. I hope there are different sacrificing boons you get and thats not the only one.

The problem is that cultist don't have a great recruitment pool. They aren't found in every cities/towns like laborer, farmer, etc. I thought the free cultist event would be common because of the theme but it isn't. I played one 30 days campaign and another 20 day and never got that event. I had the intention of going mostly cultist too but was never able to because they were never in any city. I can see the sacrifice boons becoming useful once your whole party is converted by your initial cultist, but it is pretty lackluster until then.

I only got the free cultist recruit. Happend when i was excorting a caravan, walked thru a forest biome.

Cultist are mainly found in the swamp settlements btw

Don't forget about the conversion event. You don't have to recruit only cultists to get a party full of crazy Davkul fanatics. As far as I know the likelihood of that event triggering scales with the number of cultists in your party. In my current run it triggered on day 4 for the first time. Sadly, the new cultist got billhooked the next battle. However, in my experience not all backgrounds seem viable for conversion (general guideline: cheap backgrounds only).

If you don't mind using mods. There is also a recruitment mod on nexus that increases the number of available recruits. Luckily, it still works. I am currently playing the cultist origin with double the number of recruits. At day 20 in the game I have found ~7 new cultists on a map without a swamp settlement. Still not much but at least it would have been possible to go purely cultist.

Well I got a sacrifice event and had to choose between 2 people. Thankfully I remembered the new cultist I hired I gave the reinforced chained club to so I knew it was no loss if he died. My 'reward' if it can be called that was all 5 cultists gaining 50 morale and everyone else getting -50 I assume and now 5 bros are at 0 morale and will leave. I do hope Davkul gives me another boon because that is right now not very helpful.

Same story, one of the men became cultist. All non-cultists, half of a team, leaved before caravan reached destination.
The bad thing is that you can't see characters when the event comes, so you should probably remember most valuable characters by name.

Yeah, that was a kick in the head for me too, haha. :lunar2019grinningpig:
I was lucky to have been close to a city with a tavern, but even then I lost I guy to desertion. I did savescum a bit to "choose" one who's a bit worse, but yeah, fun stuff. Only day 22, but I'm kinda loving the variety this stuff brings to the game, I wonder how cool my bbros can get.

i lost i think 5 guys only to desertation, this origin just sucks at the moment

Holy crap. I just checked Nexus for Battle Brothers, and there are tons more mods than I expected. Thanks for the reference!

As for the specific mod you mention, wow - you can have x5 the recruits? You sure it works? If yes, then I won't have issues with finding "perfect" brothers - at least from mid-game onward, when I presumably have enough cash to fish for them!

Yup i quit my cultist run because I found out there was no way to avoid the sacrifice event. Basically you are forced to have non cultist party member leave early game because u don't have the funds to boost back the morale. In addition having to sacrifice someone every time this event triggers will make it very hard to build an elite party. It make sense to get the davkul set because they are so good and you only have to do it two times, but the frequent sacrifice for the current known cultist booms seems really lackluster/bad design.

Tip: Re-name the characters you don't want to sacrifice. Helps remembering.

Has anyone found a way to actually get the sacrifice event? Early game I got one, and haven't seen one since. I suppose that's how it goes for the only person who actually want to sacrifice bro's...

Confused. These Events only happen if you use the Cultist Origin?
