Barbarian King and the Untoward (spoilers)

When I approached the target of one of my "Barbarian King" contracts, he asked to parley, and we ended up taking on a party of undead, led by an ancient priest. It was great in the sense that I got my first taste of the priest without losing any brothers... so we won, he left, and everything is great... except I would like to know, did this affect anything negatively? Did I miss out on some content because I allied with him? Would I have been able to fight the undead party on my own, or did it spawn just because of the barbarian? Was there story I missed?

not sure if the barb one is different but i have had similar when the undead scourge is on and bandits have asked,iirc i got a 3 way fight when i declined(was awhile ago so i may be misremembering)

I declined to parley once and it immediately started a fight with the barbarian king & co. No undead around.

The Barbarian King contract is not unique and you can find many more kings, you have not missed out on anything.

i said i wanted to join him to kill the undead then we fought them and won. i got a free heavy horned helmet from the king.

Ive had 3 barb king contracts in a row... they so dumb took me 4 days to find one... other one was around the corner from the quest haha

You didn't lose out on anything, I think the contract gets very easy should you side with them

i sided with the king out of curiosity,was a bit disappointed with the difficulty of the fight,maybe they could flesh it into something more dangerous
