Some questions about the noble war
So I'm in my first noble war, and I decided to support one of the houses. I'd like clarification about some things since I don't know if everything is working as intended of if something broke.

So here is the situation. The event started the war saying house Berengar was attacking House Thura. I chose Berengar and instead of getting Thura hostile to me, I got the other house, Winterhall.

Comes the first mission, to help on a siege, on one of Winterhall's castles. A little while after that siege is done, I notice that now Thura is listed as hostile, and start fighting their troops. Then I get a mission about a great battle, this time against Thura, and next one to raid their cities, which I skip.

Now I just ended another siege, against Winterhall, which got our side another castle. The progress of the end war ambition is currently "dragging on".

So my first question, is it normal for the crisis to pit you against the other two houses? I found weird that I was never notified the other one joined the war. Are they allied against us or is it a free for all?

So far we only took forts. Do the houses ever capture villages? Can anyone elaborate on this a little?

Yes, it is normal to be against the other houses. I did the same thing in my first war. If you accept any contract involving the other house, they will be hostile toward you.

Yes, villages are captured frequently. I think you can influence this by doing raiding contracts and killing patrols in those areas. At least it seems that way.

What's killing me about the whole ordeal is the AI chose isolated castles on the other side of the map so far. I'd love for them to start making sensible choices and taking land in territory adjacent to theirs. :spycon:

Thanks for the input.

In my war I took a bunch of raiding contracts for the territory south of my noble house. I raided them multiple times and between contracts I played like a bandit and killed their trade and supply caravans. Eventually my noble house took 2 villages from that area. It made the next raiding contract really easy.

Yes it`s ok. All 3 Noble houses are in war with each other. Several times I was 3rd side in a battles of two hostile noble house armies. Shoot from afar, kill survivors, and get a lot of loot.
A.I. takes small castles becouse villages might be taken quite easely, sometimes village changes owner every day.
I don`t met citadel siege or complete destruction of one of nouble houses.
