Handling Reserve
How do you guys handle keeping the morale up of your reserve mercs?

Some less severely wounded, deserters, cowards, and naturally high morale guys are the best picks for designated reserve guys, as they either have good morale by default or are immune to the penalty.

Yeah, that is what I've been trying to do. But now I want to expand my team to have mercs that fill different roles for different battles. Hard to do when people just keep getting sad they are on the bench :C

I have couple people who are content with being in reserve and then rotate other characters so that no-one drops below neutral morale. Still hard to get more than half of the characters to high morale though.

I don't bother. They'll reset to Content in a bit, and if you really need a boost, booze up at a tavern after switching. Content is good enough, and they shouldn't go below that without events or if you're chaining about 4 combats in a day.

I don't even get what the problem is.

"Uhm... Jonbob?"
"Yea?"
"How about you stay in reserve with all benefits?"
"That means I am not getting stabbed to death?"
"Nah."
"Uhm. okay!"

Pretty much this haha They still get paid the same rate as everyone else with no of the danger.

If anything it oughta be the otherway around.
My Sergant is always on the feild. Poor guy should have some serious trauma issuse by now.

Booze helps a lot. Cycle them into an easy battle every once in a while. Would be nice to have a brothel, gambling house, or some other such building in large cities (think Darkest Dungeon) to give targetted morale boosts in exchange for coinage.

Usually if the reserves get the felt useless debuff they bounce back to content in a day. I usually don't worry about it.

Once I'm into the serious part of the game my reserves are getting swapped around so much between injuries and avoiding bad matchups that nobody ever gets that unhappy anyway.

Taverns and booze work wonders. Go figure.

Or you play without reserves like me, I'm not a fan of having more than 12 brothers because I need more food to spend on them while they won't be used on the battlefield.
You can play just fine without reserves.
